As the
Head of Risk for Convera France Branch in Paris
, you will be responsible for leading and maintaining a robust risk management framework aligned with Convera's global standards. You will ensure effective oversight of all financial and non-financial risks impacting the France Branch, while acting as a key liaison between the branch, the Regulatory & Financial Risk (R&F) team, and Head Office in Luxembourg. The position requires strong collaboration with senior management and regulatory authorities (ACPR, AMF) and plays a critical role in embedding a sound risk culture across the branch.

You Will Be Responsible For
Risk Governance & Framework

  • Continue to monitor the proper implementation of the Group risk management framework in the France Branch in alignment with Convera's enterprise-wide standards.
  • Maintain the branch risk register, and ensure timely reporting of KRIs and dashboards to branch and head office management.
  • Maintain and monitor the European risk appetite statement and associated metrics related to France Business.

Regulatory & Financial Risk Support

  • Act as a key partner to the Regulatory & Financial Risk team, providing proactive support on risk identification, analysis, and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely responses to ACPR and AMF, including preparation and submission of regulatory reports and handling ad hoc requests or examinations.

Payment Services & PSD Compliance

  • Oversee risk management for payment flows, ensuring compliance with PSD2 and related regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor operational and financial risks linked to payment processing, settlement, and safeguarding of client funds.
  • Ensure strong controls for fraud prevention, transaction monitoring, and outsourcing oversight in line with payment services regulations.

Risk Advisory & Integration

  • Advise business and functional heads on risk exposures, including MiFID-related risks, operational risks, and market risks.
  • Support integration of the France Branch risk program within the global risk management framework, ensuring consistency with group policies and escalation of key risks.

Data Analytics & Automation

  • Leverage automation tools to develop dynamic dashboards, risk reports, and management information.
  • Drive process automation initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy in risk monitoring and reporting.

Market Risk & Pricing Tools

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Fenics or similar derivative pricing tools to support risk analysis related to FX and hedging services.
  • Collaborate with credit underwriting and treasury teams to monitor market and counterparty risks.

Culture & Training

  • Promote a strong risk culture based on clear ownership, effective governance, and adherence to the three lines of defense model.
  • Deliver ongoing training on operational risk and risk management tools to branch employees.

You Should Apply If You Have

  • Extensive experience in senior risk management roles within financial services.
  • Experience in MiFID and PSD2-regulated environments would be a strong advantage.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk management best practices.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, automation tools, and derivative pricing platforms (e.g., Fenics).
  • Solid knowledge of FX, hedging services, and associated risks.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality risk reports and dashboards for senior management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience managing regulatory exams.
  • University degree or equivalent; advanced qualifications in risk management or finance are a plus.
