About Prelude Prelude exists to reinvent how companies onboard and authenticate their users. We empower businesses to verify identities with greater efficiency, less friction, and less fraud - ultimately driving higher conversion rates and lower operational costs. We were founded by four former members of Zenly, the social network acquired by Snapchat in 2017. While building at scale there, the team ran into a recurring issue: SMS authentication was expensive, unreliable, and offered minimal protection against spam. So we decided to fix it. Prelude has raised $8M in seed funding led by Singular and Seedcamp. We're excited to shape the future of onboarding and user verification with you. About the role As a core member of our Sales team, you’ll connect with a wide range of prospects and spark their interest in our authentication tech. You’ll be on the front lines of our growth engine – partnering with AEs and fellow BDRs to uncover opportunities, start meaningful conversations, and fuel a steady pipeline of qualified leads, and owning the entire lifecycle for smaller deals. What you'll do As a Business Development Representative, you’ll be the spark that gets companies excited about our product. You’ll be reaching out to prospects across every level – from procurement managers and lead engineers to heads of anti‑fraud, platform owners, CTOs, CPOs, and even CEOs. Your day to day will involve: Igniting new sales opportunities for Prelude Identifying companies and people to target within your verticals/territories Cold calling and emailing as well as experimenting with other channels to find new leads Qualifying leads and pitching Prelude's value proposition Improving processes as we scale our business About you Bachelor’s or Master’s in Business or a related field Previous experience in Business Development or Sales is a strong plus Proactive mindset with a relentless drive to start conversations, build momentum, and close deals Bonus points if you know your way around HubSpot, Sales Navigator, Apollo, Phantombuster, or Kaspr Entrepreneurial mindset Self‑directed, resourceful, and a great team player Excited to contribute to a mission‑driven, fast‑growing venture Curious, coachable, and eager to learn by doing Thrives in a fast‑paced, ever‑evolving startup environment Confidence speaking English daily, and the ability to fluently speak German What we offer Competitive compensation package (base + uncapped commission) Comprehensive health insurance plan Urban Sports Club gym membership 100% transport subsidised Swile meal vouchers Pet‑friendly office environment Free snacks and drinks in the office Laptop and equipment needed to do the role Hybrid working style: 4 days at the office and 1 day at home, with 4 weeks of remote working per year An annual offsite in a great location (last one was at Le Pradet) Interview process Call with recruiter Call with Sales team member Case study A visit to our offices to meet the team and interview with our CEO We don't expect you to ace all these stages – we will evaluate your creativity and how you approach difficult problems.
