Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Team Leader to join our Cooling Water Island team at Assystem. This pivotal role involves forming, leading, and managing engineering teams for Front End Engineering Delivery on the RR SMR project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering activities and ensure timely delivery of projects
  • Approve Safety and Functional Requirements, and oversee the development of Design Packages
  • Provide Model Based System Engineering oversight and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  • Prepare and sign off Technical Specifications, and monitor and report on programme progress
  • Manage risk and opportunities, and develop and manage the team
  • Ensure SQEPing of resources, and coach and identify training needs
Requirements

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in similar roles, from FEED to detailed design, with a strong understanding of power station systems
  • Leading and integrating multi-disciplinary design teams, with a focus on delivering quality output to time and budget
  • Budgeting and work program definition for complete design project lifecycles, with a strong understanding of relevant regulations
  • Proven experience in Front End Engineering solutions for New Build conventional Island, with a focus on innovation and impact
  • Requirements Capture/Elicitation/management experience, with a strong understanding of Model Based System Engineering
  • Managing sub-contracts and sub-contractors, with a focus on integrity and ability to instil this in others
  • CEng in a relevant discipline, with a strong appreciation of wider technical issues beyond own discipline
