If you are passionate about contributing to a low-carbon future, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are currently looking for a Senior Safety Engineering Specialist to enhance our operations in Abu Dhabi.
Key Responsibilities:
As part of the Safety division, you will collaborate with a team of HSE Design engineers (Safety, Risk Assessment, Environmental Health, Noise & Vibration) on various Technip Energies projects, including oil and gas (onshore/offshore), petrochemical, energy transition, mining, and pharmaceuticals.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Identifying and assessing Major Accident Events,
- Developing and executing prevention, control, mitigation, and protection strategies,
- Ensuring safe design practices that protect personnel, the environment, and assets.
- Conducting preliminary risk assessments,
- Participating in safety reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, etc.),
- Reviewing plot plans and 3D models,
- Identifying Safety Critical Elements (SCEs) and their Criticality ratings,
- Classifying hazardous areas,
- Implementing passive fire protection measures,
- Designing active fire protection systems (including firewater pump stations and firefighting networks),
- Establishing detection systems for flammable and toxic gases,
- Ensuring personnel protection and planning escape, evacuation, and rescue strategies,
- Specifying and requisitioning firefighting and personnel protection equipment, and evaluating technical bids.
You are expected to produce high-quality deliverables while considering project constraints such as contractual obligations, budget, and timelines.
Additionally, you may be required to review deliverables from other team members and supervise junior Safety engineers.
Your expertise should also be shared through training facilitation, technical presentations, and the development of research and development topics.

Opportunities for career progression within the HSE Design entity are available, including roles such as Safety Lead, HSE Design Lead, Expert, and Head of Department.
Profile:
You should be a Chartered Engineer with a background in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Safety Engineering, possessing over six years of substantial experience in safety engineering within the oil and gas, petrochemical, energy transition, mining, or pharmaceutical sectors. You are a collaborative team player who thrives in a multicultural environment. Key attributes include energy, proactivity, rigor, autonomy, adaptability, strong interpersonal skills, effective communication, and analytical problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in English is essential, and business travel may be required.
