About the Role
The Principal Flow Assurance Engineer will be an integral part of the engineering team, collaborating with a global community of engineering professionals.
In this role, the Principal Flow Assurance Engineer is expected to exhibit significant expertise in flow assurance, along with additional competencies in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and/or Process Engineering, allowing for a broader scope of responsibilities beyond flow assurance.
The ideal candidate will independently handle engineering tasks, including analysis and report generation, with minimal guidance from management. Proficiency in relevant simulation software is essential for success in this position.
The responsibilities will be diverse, encompassing front-end conceptual studies, detailed design, and operational support, often involving direct interaction with clients. The role will require performing and occasionally leading engineering analyses to determine optimal solutions based on client needs, effectively communicating these solutions through technical reports and presentations.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee relevant engineering activities to ensure safe and operable designs that comply with Genesis and project standards, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
- Assess job scope and provide accurate estimates and timelines.
- Maintain regular communication with clients and study managers to ensure project objectives are met promptly.
- Review all pertinent discipline data.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines.
- Conduct simulations for selected cases as defined by project requirements.
- Perform calculations in line with Genesis and project quality standards.
- Develop engineering strategies, philosophies, and procedures.
- Execute quality checks on discipline models, calculations, and reports.
- Participate in project presentations to convey results effectively.
- Review all data submitted by clients for approval.
- Engage in safety and design review meetings as necessary.
- Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers.
- Contribute to Genesis’s global knowledge-sharing initiatives within the engineering discipline.
- Complete all reasonable tasks assigned by management.
- Lead small engineering teams and/or projects as required.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure a safe working environment in accordance with Technip Energies and client standards.
- Manage QHSE follow-up and oversight on projects and assigned personnel.
We are eager to connect with candidates who meet the following essential qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, with at least 8 years in the oil and gas sector, ideally within a consultancy, design house, engineering contractor, or operator environment.
- 5-10 years of dedicated experience in flow assurance, particularly with OLGA software.
- Familiarity with industry-standard software such as OLGA, Pipesim, PVTSim, Multiflash, Ledaflow, Pipenet, Flowmaster, etc.
- Experience in CFD studies and associated software (Fluent, Star CCM+, Open Foam, etc.) is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Process Engineering and experience with related software (Hysys, Unisim, K-spice, etc.) is a plus.
- A master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience in conceptual and front-end engineering studies.
- Proficiency in English is essential, as the role involves significant interaction with international clients and offices (minimum TOIEC level 850).
- French language skills are preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office applications.
- Proven experience with discipline-specific simulation software such as OLGA.
- Excellent report writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead small teams and projects effectively.
- Capability to manage workload variations while consistently delivering high-quality results.
- Technical knowledge in related disciplines to address and resolve issues.
- Ability to articulate engineering concepts clearly and effectively.
