Job Title

Lead Software Engineer in C++

Business Context

The reservation system is integral to numerous Amadeus offerings, managing essential phases of travel bookings, including ticketing, PNR oversight, and more.
Our division (CPS-RES) oversees these reservation capabilities for various travel content types , encompassing air, land, and maritime sectors. We are responsible for our distinctive reservation infrastructure, utilized by both Airlines and Distribution partners .
As the travel sector evolves rapidly, the RES division is engaged in significant ongoing and new initiatives that intersect all business units.

We are also tackling technical challenges related to modernizing our platform (e.g., optimizing our applications, transitioning to cloud solutions).

The VAS team (Validation & Storage) manages the PNR databases and the essential services linked to them, along with several critical applications (OBE and ACS) that have stringent operational requirements regarding transaction volume and system uptime.

Are you the C++ Lead Software Engineer / Scrum Master we seek?

You will collaborate within a SAFe framework, working closely with the train triumvirate (RTE, PM, System Architect), alongside other Scrum Masters and Product Owners, and with various Amadeus stakeholders (Platform, Airline, Distribution, etc.) to deliver a reliable, scalable, and high-performance PNR storage service.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development:

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement high-caliber software solutions that align with business goals.
  • Leverage your extensive technical knowledge to produce clean, efficient, and maintainable code adhering to industry standards.
  • Lead architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making, promoting innovation and product excellence.

DevOps:

  • Create and sustain efficient deployment pipelines, continuously enhancing our continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
  • Collaborate with development and platform teams to automate deployment, monitoring, and scaling of applications in both cloud and on-premises settings.
  • Implement and manage infrastructure as code.

Technical Leadership:

  • Offer guidance and mentorship to junior developers, encouraging skill enhancement and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Work with stakeholders to refine user stories, translating them into technical specifications and tasks.
  • Contribute to the establishment of coding standards, best practices, and guidelines to uphold code quality and uniformity.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by assessing processes and proposing enhancements for increased efficiency, quality, and team morale.
  • Monitor project metrics and key performance indicators to identify optimization opportunities and proactively address issues.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in software development, Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Promote effective communication within the team and with stakeholders, ensuring a shared understanding of objectives, priorities, and progress.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders to align technical solutions with strategic roadmaps and business objectives.
  • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, simplifying complex concepts into comprehensible terms.
