The airline industry is currently experiencing a significant shift in retailing to meet the evolving expectations of customers, which now mirror those in retail sectors: enhanced workflow efficiency, control, price transparency, social media engagement, and personalized experiences.

In this transformative landscape, Amadeus has initiated the Nevio program, representing the future of the Passenger Service System (PSS), previously referred to as Next-Gen Altéa, Nevio. Our division, ORR-OST-OMS, is tasked with developing the Order Management System (OMS), a critical component of Nevio.

About the Role

This opportunity is ideal for individuals currently in a Solution Definition Manager role or those aspiring to transition into this position.

As part of the OMS team, you will engage in an agile environment focused on the design, development, validation, and maintenance of core OMS components, including:

• A central order system for managing order data and lifecycle, storage, and fulfillment.
• Integration with the NDC layer of the order suite through the RTL backend.
• Collaboration with other suites essential for order processing: offer suite, revenue accounting, payment, operations suite, etc.
• Coordination with the PSS (also known as Bimodal) to utilize all PSS capabilities for a seamless transition while introducing new functionalities via OMS.

The ideal candidate will initially contribute to gain insights into the domain before gradually transitioning to a full-time Solution Definition Manager role, equipped with substantial knowledge in the area.

During this initial phase, your responsibilities will include:

• Clarifying requirements with Business Unit product management and proposing solutions aligned with the vision to ensure new developments meet customer expectations and product strategy.
• Ensuring features are industrialized and easily deployable to enhance product deployment and maintainability.
• Innovating by designing and documenting new features, considering both industry and technical advancements.
• Documenting and sharing knowledge to provide valuable information to internal and external customers of the platform, delivering quality product specifications and solution designs while ensuring knowledge transfer through handovers.
• Coordinating with relevant divisions and departments to identify interactions with other Amadeus applications and ensure functional compatibility.
• Validating the product to ensure compliance with delivered functionality and system integrity, providing sign-off.
• Supplying necessary information to Product Management for business case development and RFP responses.
• Supporting customers during the production phase and contributing to maintenance efforts, ensuring production integrity and security, while investigating reported incidents and analyzing potential solutions with clear communication.
• Collaborating with team members to leverage their knowledge and diverse backgrounds while contributing your own expertise.

As you progress to the Solution Definition Manager role, you will:

Serve as the primary point of contact in areas requiring cross-functional expertise.

• Analyze and capture solution elements for large cross-functional CPs and other complex cross-organization solutions, driving assessments across R&D teams.
• Address the needs of the Central and/or Regional commercial organization in close collaboration with all Product Definition and Development teams within the division.
• Identify areas of commonality and optimize departmental workflows by documenting coherent, reusable solution responses.
• Be accountable for providing regular and relevant status updates to stakeholders at all engagement stages.
• Register and identify impacts on Amadeus Solutions and Products provided to clients, ensuring proper handling and resolution by the appropriate teams.

Provide support and expertise to Product, Sales, and Account teams regarding functional and technical recommendations for new solutions, including:

• Contributing to and supporting the preparation of RFI/P responses and other ad hoc customer requests.
• Offering recommendations for new solutions in collaboration with R&D teams and coordinating input.
• Analyzing needs and requirements from customer and internal sources, proposing functional and technical solution recommendations with supporting rationale.
• Documenting and presenting solution recommendations.
• Supporting studies for new business opportunities involving complex solutions.
• Suggesting ways to enhance customer satisfaction.

Develop, maintain, and share solution analysis and expertise across the organization:

• Define and execute a communication and training strategy within the team.
• Create and deliver training materials, including tutorials, user guides, and videos for internal team training.
• Establish and implement communication channels between the commercial and R&D organizations regarding complex solutions or escalations.
• Design tools to support processes, considering User Experience principles.
• Track and measure the performance of overall functional and technical solution determination processes, proposing and implementing improvements.

About the Ideal Candidate

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role (Solution Definition Manager, PDA, Senior PDA, etc.).
• A solid understanding of primary Technical Pre-Sales methodologies and prerequisites.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with all project stakeholders and Amadeus clients during workshops.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to propose effective solutions.
• The SDM should possess a strategic vision for product development and effectively communicate this vision within their team and across cross-functional teams involved in the project.
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
