The American University of Paris is seeking applications for a full-time role in the Department of Economics and Management at the rank of Lecturer in Management Studies.

Qualifications

A PhD in Management, Organizational Behavior, Organization Studies, or a closely related discipline is required at the time of appointment.

The ideal candidate will possess a proven record or potential for excellence in teaching, institutional service, scholarly research, and publication in the fields of management, organizational behavior, organization studies, or a related area.

Applicants who have completed their coursework for a PhD but have not yet defended their dissertation, along with a strong agenda in teaching, service, or research, may also be considered.

The successful candidate should be adept at instructing management courses such as Foundations of Management, Strategic Management, and Organizational Behavior at both undergraduate and graduate levels, in addition to specialized courses.

Preference will be given to candidates capable of teaching in at least two or more of the following specialized domains: marketing, sustainability management, NGO & mission-based management, management of complexity, business ethics, project management, operations management, or entrepreneurship.

We encourage applicants with experience in a liberal arts context and an interest in contributing to AUP's core curriculum in areas such as digital literacy, experiential learning, and integrative inquiry.

Faculty members at AUP are expected to demonstrate a commitment to liberal arts education within a highly international setting and engage in interdisciplinary education and research.

The university provides support and mentorship to new faculty, including a course release during the initial year of appointment.

Responsibilities
  • The teaching load consists of six courses per academic year.
  • Academic advising and professional mentorship of students.
  • Commitment to scholarly research.
  • Service to the department, including curricular development and innovation.
  • Engagement with the university through committee work, assessment, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Participation in faculty governance, including attendance at full faculty, department, and committee meetings.
  • Collaboration in a professional and collegial manner with the university community.
  • Adherence to policies and procedures outlined in the Faculty Manual.

Faculty at AUP must be dedicated to liberal arts education in a diverse international environment and pursue international research and scholarship.

We seek engaged scholars with high expectations for teaching and scholarly research.
