Entity: CPS - SSP (Search, Shopping and Pricing)
The Search, Shopping and Pricing (SSP) division is dedicated to creating innovative products that cater to various customer segments, including providers (airlines, alliances, and railway operators), distributors (travel agencies, online travel agencies, tour operators), and emerging intermediaries (meta-search). The market is rapidly evolving, driven by online competitors (Google/ITA, Kayak, Expedia, etc.) and significant shifts in business models (NDC). The platform that underpins these operations is characterized by its massive scale in infrastructure (handling extensive transactions), operations (processing numerous transactions per second), data (managing 350 million fares and petabyte-scale historical datasets), and software (comprising 23 million lines of code).
To achieve the primary goal of SSP, which is to deliver optimal travel solutions, the Pricing Integration & Orchestration (PIO) department collaborates closely with Reservation, Ticketing, and Pricing Engine entities. PIO engages just before customer payment to reassess the price initially provided during the shopping phase, ensuring the customer is charged accurately.
The PIO department specializes in pricing for flight tickets and ancillary services, alongside aftersales processes (such as Amadeus Ticket Changer and Service Changer).
Through its involvement in several SAFe Agile Release Trains, the department significantly influences the definition of Airline IT and Travel Distribution business areas through projects like Offer Management System, Nevio, and Travel Platform, among others that are shaping the future of Amadeus.
Over a third of our department members hold Scrum Master or Product Owner roles as part of their contributions to various Agile teams.
Objectives
Serve as a functional and technical lead responsible for establishing and disseminating best practices in QA methodology across the PIO organization.
Engage in technical discussions with internal development partners to comprehend their designs and intended outcomes.
Assume a leadership role in the technical execution of the testing strategy, possessing a robust understanding of both IT and business.
Main Responsibilities

Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge to ensure the team operates at peak performance. Recognized as a leader in the field and may formally train Specialists/Senior Specialists. Understand how primary business drivers may influence the area of responsibility. Capable of assessing complex issues with broad implications, enhancing processes, recommending solutions, and devising risk mitigation strategies. Able to communicate intricate information effectively. Operate with a high degree of autonomy, guided by management directives. Lead projects or contribute to extensive cross-functional initiatives. May assist in resource and budget planning.Technical Excellence
Master QA methodologies. For intricate/cross-functional solutions, analyze, document, and execute testing standards and procedures. Document, analyze root causes, and propose corrective actions for defects. Master QA tools, environments, and test automation solutions.Functional Excellence
Possess proficient product domain knowledge, including relevant business processes and scenarios, along with a deep understanding of customer needs. Lead customer triage/debug sessions and assist the team in reproducing issues internally.Drive Continuous and Sustainable Improvement
Participate in internal and external forums, leading discussions department-wide on QA methodology, frameworks, and tooling advancements. Strive to uphold exceptionally high-quality standards for Amadeus products. Contribute to patents and technical events within the QA domain. Propose relevant KPIs and effective measurement methods for software deliverables and test/production maintenance. Ensure the adoption and enhancement of testing tools and environments: promote existing tools to prevent duplication, evaluate them, and recommend improvements. Engage in understanding, measuring, and reducing the environmental impact of tested applications and associated QA activities.Building Relationships & Knowledge Sharing
Mentor, coach, and train less experienced QA Engineers, Software Development Engineers, and Product Definition Analysts in quality assurance skills and professional development. Actively participate in the construction, maintenance, and deployment of onboarding processes for newcomers. Provide consulting on test automation challenges, testing tools, QA processes, and functional test coverage. Attend Quality and Principal QA Engineer community events.About Our Ideal Candidate
Experience with Test Management Tools (e.g., Octane). Familiarity with testing tools (e.g., Robot framework, TTS, Postman). Knowledge of various programming languages, including Python and other scripting languages. University degree in Computer Science. ISTQB Certification. Advanced proficiency in GitLab. Solid understanding of software development methodologies, such as Agile, SAFE, Scrum, or Kanban, and the role of QA in each development phase. Proficiency in diverse testing tools/frameworks and techniques, including manual testing, automated testing, unit testing, integration testing, system testing, regression testing, functional testing, non-functional testing, user acceptance testing, etc. Fluent in English.What Will Be Considered a Great Advantage:
