Proven experience in driving advancements, resolving technical issues, and guiding less experienced team members; extensive knowledge and practical application in the relevant domain.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and representing customer requirements.
  • Fluent communication skills in both English and French.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in data analytics, data warehousing, ETL processes, data science, or other Big Data technologies.
  • Familiarity with techniques such as packet capture/analysis, artificial packet generation, load testing, and traffic path analysis to address network latency, packet loss, and performance issues at the packet level.
  • Understanding of Linux/Unix or Windows systems at an administrative level.
  • Knowledge of networking principles (e.g., TCP/IP, routing, VLANs, load balancing, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of web technologies (e.g., DNS, TCP, etc.).
About the Role

In the capacity of a Data Solutions Technical Engineer, you will tackle customer challenges while also providing secondary support to our other support teams. You will be part of a worldwide team dedicated to assisting customers in their transition to Google Cloud.

This role involves diagnosing technical issues for customers through a combination of debugging, networking, system administration, documentation updates, and coding/scripting. Your contributions will enhance product adoption and usability by improving the product, tools, processes, and documentation. You will play a crucial role in fostering the growth of Google Cloud by identifying and advocating for our customers' needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Address customer issues through effective diagnosis, resolution, or the implementation of new investigative tools to enhance productivity for customer inquiries on Google Cloud Platform products.
  • Gain expertise in Google's product technology and underlying architectures by troubleshooting, reproducing, and identifying the root causes of customer-reported issues, while developing tools for expedited diagnosis.
  • Serve as a consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders in Engineering, Sales, and customer organizations to overcome technical deployment challenges and enhance Google Cloud.
  • Comprehend customer concerns and advocate for their requirements with cross-functional teams, including Product and Engineering, to identify improvements and ensure high-quality production.
  • Collaborate as part of a team of Engineers/Consultants that globally ensures 24-hour customer support, which may require working non-standard hours or shifts.
