We are working with a leading commodity trading house to find a skilled Traffic Officer to join their commercial team in Zurich. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong background in logistics and transportation to take on a key role in the company's operations.
Key Responsibilities- Freight and Charter Coordination: Work closely with forwarders and shipping agents to arrange the transportation of goods by vessel, barge, truck, and railcar.
- Contract Administration: Manage the full contract lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery, invoicing, payment orders, and preparing bill of lading instructions.
- Survey and Inspection: Instruct surveyors to inspect materials, conduct surveys, and tally goods.
- Commercial Claims: Handle claims with responsible traders in a professional and timely manner.
- Stock Declaration: Declare stocks under insurance policies and for banking purposes.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Head of Operations.
- Commercial Background: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Traffic position, preferably in Base Metals, Minerals, or Concentrates.
- International Transport Knowledge: Familiarity with letters of credit and international transport documentation.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English and German, with Spanish being an asset.
- Technical Skills: Excellent MS Office skills and the ability to work with multiple transactions simultaneously.
- Location: The role is based in Zurich, with the possibility of relocation for the right candidate.
