Department Overview:
Within the Group, you will be integrated into the HQ IT department, a vital part of GIE AXA Service. This department is focused on driving digital transformation across local and corporate functions, promoting innovative IT solutions that align with our strategic objectives. As a partner to various business functions, we offer support and guidance to ensure success.
Role and Responsibilities:
In this position, you will collaborate closely with the Head of Governance and Compliance to safeguard information and devise strategies aimed at minimizing risks to critical data. You will work alongside business units to continuously evaluate and identify potential risks, ensuring they are effectively mitigated through the implementation of robust policies, procedures, training, systems, and controls.
Context and Challenges:
The insurance industry operates within a complex and ever-evolving regulatory landscape, which includes regulations such as the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA). The rapid advancement of digital technologies and the increase in cyber threats further complicate the risk environment for organizations.
The ideal candidate for the IT Risk and Compliance Manager role will be equipped to tackle these challenges by developing and executing compliance and IT risk monitoring strategies tailored to this intricate regulatory framework and the evolving landscape of cyber threats. This role requires ongoing regulatory and technological vigilance, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and advocacy for innovative security practices and tools to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage IT systems to ensure security and compliance.
- Align IT control frameworks with global standards and conduct risk assessments.
- Identify regulatory and non-regulatory IT risks through continuous assessments.
- Provide practical and cost-effective solutions for risk-related issues.
- Foster strong relationships and effective communication with other departments.
- Guide the development and implementation of risk-related policies and standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance.
- Offer guidance to employees and governance stakeholders.
- Supervise and report on aggregated risk and control activities.
- Engage in comprehensive risk remediation planning and monitoring.
- Track key milestones and manage escalations for overdue activities.
- Develop ongoing technology risk reporting and monitor key trends.
- Lead IT Business Process Improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for enhancement.
- Ensure adherence to enterprise frameworks related to technology controls.
- Promote a strong technology risk management culture across the organization.
Candidate Profile:
To excel in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar role within the insurance or banking sectors.
- A university degree in information technology, computer science, information security, or a related field.
- Familiarity with applicable insurance regulations and their impact on IT.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Awareness of current trends in information security, business continuity, and data management.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex IT risks in accessible terms.
- Strong problem-solving and self-management abilities.
- Advanced knowledge of technology controls, security, and risk issues.
- Experience in leading complex projects and initiatives.
- Expertise in technology controls and information security.
- Audit or controls background, with Big Four experience being a plus.
- Familiarity with Key Risk Indicators and Technology Risk reporting is advantageous.
- Relevant certifications in Information Security, such as CISM or CISSP, are a plus.
