This approach is fundamental to our success and our mission to build a better world for both our customers and the talented individuals who prioritize their needs.

Work Environment:

AXA Group Headquarters serves as the central hub for our corporate activities, offering guidance and support to our global subsidiaries. This ensures the alignment and monitoring of the Group's overarching strategy, adherence to standards, consistency in commercial practices, and the sharing of best practices. Our headquarters is home to approximately 1,000 employees from 45 different nationalities, creating a rich and stimulating workplace.

Department Overview:

Joining the HQ IT department, part of GIE AXA Service, you will contribute to the digital transformation of our organization. The IT Department is committed to promoting and implementing innovative IT solutions that align with the Group's strategic objectives, acting as a vital partner to various business functions.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

As the IT Risk and Compliance Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Head of Governance and Compliance to safeguard information and develop strategies that mitigate various risks threatening critical data. You will work alongside business units to continuously assess and identify potential risks, ensuring they are effectively managed through well-implemented policies, procedures, training, systems, and controls.

Context and Key Challenges:

The insurance industry operates within a complex and ever-evolving regulatory landscape, including frameworks such as the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA). The rapid advancement of digital technologies and the increasing prevalence of cyber threats further complicate the risk environment.

In this context, the IT Risk and Compliance Manager must adeptly navigate these challenges by formulating and executing compliance and IT risk monitoring strategies tailored to this intricate regulatory framework and the dynamic nature of cyber threats. This role requires ongoing regulatory and technological vigilance, collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, and advocacy for innovative security practices and tools to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage IT systems to ensure their security.
  • Align the IT control framework with global standards and conduct risk reviews.
  • Identify potential regulatory and non-regulatory IT risks through comprehensive and ongoing assessments with relevant business leaders.
  • Assist in developing practical and cost-effective solutions for risk-related issues.
  • Foster strong working relationships and effective communication with other GIE departments (CSO, DPO, Information Risk Management, etc.) and AXA GO.
  • Guide the development, implementation, and communication of risk-related policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance.
  • Provide guidance to employees, colleagues, and governance stakeholders.
  • Supervise, measure, and report on aggregated risks and controls.
  • Engage actively in end-to-end risk remediation planning, resolution, and monitoring.
  • Track key milestones, escalate overdue activities, manage problems, and archive essential monthly artifacts for audit purposes.
  • Develop ongoing technology risk reporting, monitor key trends, and define metrics to assess control effectiveness.
  • Lead IT Business Process Improvement initiatives and review internal processes to identify opportunities for enhancement.
  • Advise, oversee, and enforce enterprise frameworks and methodologies related to technology controls.
  • Influence behaviors to reduce risk and promote a robust technology risk management culture throughout GIE AXA.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in a similar role within the insurance or banking sectors (or another highly regulated environment).
  • A university degree in information technology, computer science, information security, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with applicable insurance regulations and their impact on IT operations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trustworthy relationships with business stakeholders and GIE subject matter experts.
  • Awareness of current trends in Information Security, business continuity, data management, security, encryption, and vulnerability analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex IT risks in straightforward business terms.
  • Strong problem-solving and self-management abilities to address technical challenges effectively.
  • Advanced knowledge of organizational technology controls, security, and risk issues.
  • Proven ability to participate in complex, large-scale projects and initiatives.
  • Capability to serve as a lead expert in technology controls and information security for project teams, business units, and external vendors.
  • Experience with Key Risk Indicators and Technology Risk reporting is advantageous. Relevant certifications in Information Security, such as CISM, CISSP, or CRISC, are also beneficial.
