Senior Manager of Mergers and Acquisitions

Airbus Helicopters is seeking a M&A Senior Manager (f/m) to enhance our Company Development division located in Marignane, France.
This role is integral to the Strategy function at Airbus Helicopters. The M&A team is tasked with the initiation and execution of M&A and joint venture projects, currently consisting of 6 Senior Managers supported by dedicated Finance, Legal, and HR professionals.
As a Senior Manager based in Marignane, you will play a crucial role in advancing Airbus Helicopters' M&A objectives. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Facilitating the origination of M&A opportunities
- Structuring and negotiating M&A and joint venture transactions with external stakeholders while managing the internal approval workflow
- Overseeing the successful execution of transactions
Marignane, a vibrant economic center with proximity to Marseille-Provence Airport, is a dynamic city in southeastern France. Key Responsibilities:- Manage all phases of M&A projects from target identification to execution and integration preparation
- Conduct financial modeling for acquisitions, disposals, or joint ventures, coordinate with necessary stakeholders, negotiate with sellers, buyers, or partners, and present to executive management while overseeing the entire project management process
- Collaborate with external advisors, including investment bankers, lawyers, auditors, and strategy consultants
- Ensure optimal transaction execution and identify associated risks
- Education: Strong academic background in Finance and/or Engineering
- Languages: Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in a second language (preferably French or German) is required
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of approximately 10 years of M&A experience, either in an advisory role (investment banking/big-4 TAS) or within a corporate development team, with a proven track record of successful transaction execution
- Experience in the aerospace and defense sector is a significant advantage
- Ability to synthesize information while maintaining a comprehensive view of the transactions/projects managed
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in risk assessment, deal structuring, and execution
- Proficient in engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, including clients, partners, and financial institutions
- Excellent negotiation skills and the capability to collaborate with various parties involved in deal structuring
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a balanced and transparent approach
- Demonstrated leadership and initiative, particularly in driving projects forward without formal authority
- Adaptability to thrive in a high-performance culture while maintaining humility
- A motivated, energetic, and passionate individual who remains resilient
- Curiosity and intellectual agility, with enthusiasm for working in an international context
