Position Overview: Network and Unified Communications Operations Leader

The Network and Unified Communications team operates globally, facilitating the management of cross-regional initiatives. The leader of Network Operations will play a pivotal role in executing the Global Network strategy, ensuring the management of high-availability network infrastructure and associated operational services in alignment with established Service Level Targets.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Direct supervision of Network and Unified Communications Operations team members
    • Lead, manage, and coordinate a team of network engineers
    • Define the necessary skills and talents for team members
    • Oversee training and development initiatives for team members
    • Provide leadership to foster a process-oriented, cross-functional team environment
    • Manage scheduling, workload, and operational workflows to enhance service delivery
    • Address both technical and non-technical escalations
  2. Cultivate, motivate, and guide team members to foster a collaborative environment
  3. Ensure adherence to proper implementation and procedural compliance
  4. Promote a culture of safety in daily operations for all team members
Incident and Event Management
  1. Ensure the efficient resolution of incidents and problems through effective use of people, processes, and technology, adhering to ITIL standards.
  2. Provide timely and accurate communication regarding service-impacting events.
  3. Collaborate with vendors for issue resolution and communication.
  4. Work alongside the IT Customer Care team to manage improvement tickets and service requests.
Enterprise Monitoring
  1. Oversee processes to effectively monitor all services, ensuring compliance with standards, best practices, and SLAs.
  2. Report on key metrics related to availability, incident resolution, and service delivery performance, ensuring close adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  3. Manage the necessary toolsets for event management services.
Continuous Improvement
  1. Provide leadership and technical guidance, mentoring others within their technical domain
  2. Ensure the networking system operates efficiently without interruptions.
  3. Maintain consistency of CMDB data.
  4. Lead the lifecycle management of network systems.
  5. Document and manage standards, policies, processes, and architecture for Network and Unified Communications.
  6. Conduct regular reviews for process improvement to ensure ongoing optimization.
  7. Address audit findings related to network and implement remediation.
  8. Coordinate the monthly cleanup process of monitoring tools.
  9. Develop processes to ensure appropriate WAN, LAN, and device access privileges, ensuring data integrity and security.
  10. Collaborate to create and maintain business continuity and contingency plans, including disaster recovery and emergency operations plans.
Administrative Responsibilities
  1. Oversee maintenance, licensing follow-up, and renewal processes
  2. Monitor bills and expenditures closely.
  3. Collaborate with the Network Operations Manager on vendor management and relationships.

Qualifications & Experience Essential
  1. Bachelor's degree in IT or telecommunications systems
  2. Proficiency in English (spoken, written, read)
  3. 3 to 5 years of experience managing telecommunications engineers and staff
  4. Previous managerial experience in a global context
  5. Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including IP, Ethernet, Cisco Wifi, Palo Alto firewalls, and Global Protect VPN client, among others.
  6. Experience in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  7. Ability to learn from experienced team members
