Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Procurement Manager to join our team at SUEZ. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for managing the entire procurement process for transportation and external treatment services.
Main Responsibilities
- Team Management:
- Lead and guide a team of four procurement specialists, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure their professional development
- Assign tasks efficiently and effectively, ensuring individual and collective objectives are met within set deadlines
- Promote positive engagement among procurement specialists with internal and external partners
- Transportation Procurement (200M€):
- Develop and implement an effective procurement strategy for transportation and external treatment services, aligning with the company's objectives
- Identify, evaluate, and select potential suppliers, negotiating favorable contract terms while maintaining strong relationships with strategic partners
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in the waste management sector, guaranteeing ethical and sustainable practices in the procurement process
- Report on actions and validate with the Finance department
- External Treatment Supervision (200M€):
- Oversee external treatment contracts, ensuring processes meet established quality and safety standards
- Establish management processes with Business Partners for selecting, managing, and monitoring external treatments
- Collaborate with external treatment providers to optimize operations and introduce continuous improvements in waste treatment processes
- Supplier Management:
- Develop a supplier panel aligned with SUEZ's commitments to Health and Safety, Sustainability, and local anchoring
- Monitor transporters' performance, identifying and resolving potential issues to ensure smooth and reliable transportation flows
- Develop innovation within the supplier panel and internally in management practices
- Pilotage, Coordination, Innovation, and Project Follow-up:
- Pilot transversal projects on transportation or other topics (setting up a project structure for automatic order passage, tracking progress…)
- Define and implement an operational dashboard with Business teams
- Develop performance indicators for sustainable development and social responsibility for SUEZ's transportation procurement activities
- Document and communicate solutions and their updates
- Develop an innovation pipeline and tools within a Lean / continuous improvement framework
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in procurement, particularly in the transportation sector
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills for transportation
- Excellent knowledge of procurement and logistics principles and practices
- Deep understanding of regulations and standards related to transportation and waste treatment
- Ability to analyze data and use analysis tools to make informed decisions
- Advanced project management and strategic planning skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong orientation towards continuous improvement and development of tools and processes
- Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with various departments
- Strong internal client orientation and ability to maintain positive relationships with suppliers
- Ability to manage stress and uncertainty, and work in a constantly evolving environment
- Fluent English: ability to interact and animate an international network
Qualifications/Profile:
- Degree in Engineering or a degree in Procurement, Logistics, Commerce, or a related field
- At least 10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the waste or services sector
- A professional certification in procurement or logistics would be an asset
- A certification in Lean Management or equivalent would be an asset
