Proposal Engineer & Business Marketing Support in Water Treatment M/F
This graduate program is a fixed-term contract lasting 12 months.

The Proposal Engineer & Business Support Graduate role within Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions focuses on supporting our rapidly expanding Assets service business.
The successful candidate will engage in a dual role—creating new designs and proposals for our sustainable mobile water treatment services across Europe, primarily for pure and process water applications in industrial and manufacturing settings, while also contributing to business support activities. This includes analyzing and visually presenting our operational and financial data, drawing insightful conclusions from various systems, and assisting teams in enhancing productivity through the effective implementation of digital tools.
This graduate position is ideal for an ambitious, creative, and inquisitive team player with excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail. Candidates should possess an academic background in engineering, preferably with knowledge of process or environmental engineering, and a specialization in business development or marketing.
The successful candidate will gain insights into Veolia's water treatment operations.

The second aspect of this position involves Business Marketing Support, aimed at helping the business focus on growth areas, markets, and applications, while equipping the team with the necessary tools for success. Our scope of work is diverse, encompassing emergency deployments, routine applications, and complex projects utilizing multiple technologies such as Filtration, Ultrafiltration, Reverse Osmosis, Electrodeionization, and Ion Exchange. We also design and propose long-term agreements for Veolia-owned water treatment facilities based on mobile or containerized units.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project opportunities from inquiry to order with ethical integrity and innovative thinking to develop safe and effective water treatment solutions for our clients.
- Conduct thorough analysis of customer requests and requirements.
- Develop relevant technical documentation, including Process Descriptions, Process Flow Diagrams, and process design calculations.
- Participate in customer meetings, which may involve travel within Europe.
- Establish the scope of supply and associated costs, including installation, commissioning, service, consumables, chemicals, labor, third-party supply, and freight.
- Identify and mitigate project-related risks, focusing on health, safety, and environmental protection.
- Develop proposals with a strong emphasis on value proposition.
- Create visually appealing documents and presentations in accordance with brand guidelines.
- Present comprehensive packages to Veolia leadership for review and approval.
- The Business Marketing Support role involves data analysis (proficiency in Excel, VBA, and Tableau is advantageous), drawing valuable insights from complex datasets, and understanding basic financial concepts while managing cost models and internal projects.
- Additionally, team members will build a strong internal network of collaborators, demonstrate negotiation skills in customer meetings, comprehend contracts and commercial terminology, and adhere to internal compliance and delegation of authority procedures.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Pursuing a degree in chemical or environmental engineering or a business-related field.
- Experience or interest in business marketing is preferred.
- Strong mathematical skills, with a foundational understanding of report logic and data visualization.
- Candidates must be fluent in both French and English (written and verbal).
- Additional language skills are a plus.
- Previous experience in water and/or wastewater operations, engineering, or bid management is not required but is advantageous.
- Valid driving license (car).
- Willingness to travel occasionally within the EU and UK.
