**Job Title:** Pastry Chef

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team at Accor. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the pastry and bakery section of the kitchen, ensuring that all baked goods are of the highest quality and presented in an attractive manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all day-to-day operations of the pastry and bakery section of the kitchen, including supervising and coordinating the activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation.
  • Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread, and pastries, following traditional and modern recipes.
  • Produce all baked goods, including artisan breads and rolls, muffins, laminated Danish, laminated croissants, and doughnuts.
  • Develop, design, or create new ideas and items for the Pastry Kitchen, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure seamless execution of events and services.
  • Ensure excellent quality throughout the dessert offerings, adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Follow proper handling and storage of all food products, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Supervise and coordinate all pastry and dessert preparation and presentation, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met, and report any issues to the supervisor immediately.
  • Assist in determining how food should be presented and creates decorative food displays, ensuring that all displays are visually appealing and meet the highest standards of quality.
  • Check the quality of materials and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking, reporting any issues to the supervisor immediately.
  • Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to the supervisor immediately.
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement, demonstrating a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Must possess a positive attitude and have the ability to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with co-workers efficiently and effectively.
  • Recognize superior quality products, presentations, and flavors, and ensure that all products meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Operate and maintain all department equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas, ensuring that all areas are clean and organized at all times.
  • Serve as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors, including a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards, and guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently.
  • Ensuring Culinary Standards and Responsibilities are Met for Pastry Team.
