Position Overview
The Vice President, European Operations is a pivotal leadership role tasked with directing and managing Hex Trust's strategic initiatives and business operations across Europe. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of the rapidly evolving digital asset landscape, alongside senior management expertise in market dynamics and regulatory compliance pertinent to the European context. The role reports directly to the Chief Network Officer.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a strategic collaborator with the senior management team at Hex Trust, overseeing European operations and actively participating in business growth initiatives that align with the group's overarching objectives. Cultivate a culture of innovation, teamwork, and excellence within the team;
- Lead business development and financial performance in the European market, working closely with internal teams such as Sales & Business Development and Relationship Management to comprehend client requirements and enhance client engagement;
- Formulate and implement innovative strategies to accelerate Hex Trust's market presence in Europe, refine the business model, and execute plans effectively;
- Manage the daily operations of business interests in Europe, ensuring the security, scalability, and dependability of Hex Trust's custody solutions. Establish robust controls, risk management protocols, and operational processes to protect client assets and uphold superior service standards;
- Remain informed about the shifting regulatory environment in Europe, assisting with licensing processes as necessary and ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations, including AML/KYC, data protection, and cybersecurity mandates. Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities, industry groups, and external partners;
- Promote effective cross-departmental collaboration by engaging closely with local operations, HR, and administrative teams, while ensuring timely assessments of business performance; and
- Manage the group's interactions with local banking institutions.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant discipline such as finance or business administration;
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience within the digital asset sector, providing the necessary expertise for the role;
- Extensive background in digital asset custody or related areas, with a profound understanding of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies, demonstrated by a solid track record of engagement within the digital asset ecosystem;
- Knowledge of custody frameworks, decentralized finance (DeFi) products, and industry best practices in the digital asset space;
- Current awareness of emerging technologies and trends in the digital asset and blockchain sectors;
- Strong understanding of the European regulatory framework, including evolving regulations for digital assets and associated products, AML/KYC, data protection, and cybersecurity standards;
- Proven leadership and management experience, with the capability to develop and implement strategic initiatives;
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster relationships with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on operational efficiency and risk management; and
- Proficient in Google Workspace applications, particularly Sheets and Slides.
