Chairperson of the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education

The High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education is seeking a Chairperson to lead its evaluation processes and increase their impact on the higher education and research ecosystem.
The Chairperson shall be chosen for their ability to enhance evaluation processes and increase their impact on the higher education and research ecosystem.
In accordance with article L. 114-3-3 of the French Research Code, the Chairperson shall be appointed by decree signed by the President of the French Republic for a once-renewable four-year term.
Candidates shall send a detailed curriculum vitae and a project statement (max 10 pages) to the Director General of Higher Education and Professional Integration and the Director General of Research and Innovation.
The office of Chairperson is incompatible with functions mentioned in article 10 of the French Law no. 2017-55 of 20 January 2017.
Within two months of taking office, the Chairperson shall send a declaration of assets and liabilities and a declaration of interest to the Haute Autorité pour la transparence de la vie publique.
- Evaluating higher education bodies and their groupings, research bodies, scientific cooperation foundations, and private not-for-profit legal entities under contract with the French State.
- Evaluating research structures and units at the request of the legal entity to which they belong.
- Evaluating initial training courses delivered and qualifications issued by higher education bodies.
- Ensuring that all tasks assigned to higher education and research staff are taken into account in their appraisals.
- Evaluating major national research infrastructures and any structure created under private law receiving public funds for research or higher education.
- Evaluating the dissemination activity of scientific, technical and industrial culture within institutions and research structures.
- Promoting scientific integrity in evaluations.
- Evaluating measures promoting equality between women and men in organizations contributing to the higher education public service.
