The Role: Data Center Technician
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Center Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the critical infrastructure that powers our clients' operations.
Your Responsibilities:
- Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns of data center equipment (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches) according to established procedures and guidelines.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues promptly and efficiently, minimizing disruption to client services.
- Communicate effectively with shift leads and colleagues regarding incidents and resolutions.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and participate in daily safety briefings.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge, participating in meetings, and staying informed about ongoing projects.
- Proactively communicate relevant information to ensure smooth workflow and minimize the impact of changes on other teams.
- Comply with Data Center Services policies, procedures, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently and meet or exceed established KPIs.
- Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and accountability for the quality and reliability of data center facilities.
- Develop a deep understanding of client business needs to effectively address their technical requirements.
Your Qualifications:
- 1-2+ years of experience as a Data Center Technician or equivalent experience with computer and server hardware, including an understanding of component and system failures.
- Experience administering software tools for diagnostics, testing, firmware updates, and real-time issue resolution during deployment execution.
- High school diploma required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently or with assistance.
- Proven ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team, including remote teams.
