Job Purpose:
The Nuclear and Aerospace Market Strategist is responsible for initiating, cultivating, and sustaining relationships with clients and key stakeholders. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the Nuclear and Aerospace client landscape and global markets, supporting the marketing initiatives and commercial strategies set forth by the Head of Market for the INDUSTRIES Business Lines, to effectively implement commercial actions and achieve order intake goals.
Scope:
The Market Strategist will concentrate on enhancing the knowledge and market awareness of the Regional Business Development Manager (BDM) network regarding Nuclear and Aerospace opportunities. This includes assisting in the sourcing, prospecting, and follow-up of commercial opportunities within their respective regions. The Market Strategist will also provide technical and commercial support to the Regional BDM Network to ensure a deep understanding of client needs and requests.
Accountabilities:
Business Development
- Collects, consolidates, and disseminates insights related to the business landscape within their area of responsibility, particularly concerning clients, partners, competitors, and local market nuances (such as local content requirements, specific legal and fiscal frameworks, foreign exchange issues, and applicable industry standards). This necessitates establishing and nurturing sustainable relationships with relevant management and technical/commercial departments of national and international stakeholders through regular engagements, while also leveraging insights from Technip Energies' broader organization (ongoing projects, other business units, and operational centers).
- Identifies prospects and targets, providing advanced intelligence to formulate commercial strategies prior to receiving Invitations to Bid (ITB).
- Facilitates and leads pre-tendering strategy discussions to secure Technip Energies management's endorsement of the commercial approach.
- Initiates and oversees compliance activities to validate external partners.
- Contributes to and supervises the preparation of prequalifications aligned with client specifications and the commercial strategy.
- Whenever feasible, acts as a technical and commercial resource for the BD Regional Network, assisting them in applying the commercial strategy defined by the Head of Market for the Business Lines.
- Reports to: Head of Market Industries
- Key Internal Interactions:
- All Technip Energies personnel involved in bid preparation, including commercial and operational teams, legal, project financing, and insurance teams, as well as management.
- Marketing team
- Key External Interactions: clients, partners, suppliers, subcontractors, and local authorities
- Degree in Commercial Management or a related field, complemented by substantial technical experience in the Nuclear and/or Aerospace sectors, or an Engineering background with significant Marketing and International Business Development expertise;
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Nuclear and/or Aerospace markets;
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience across the primary stages and specificities of Nuclear and Aerospace projects;
- Familiarity with Nuclear and/or Aerospace client requests for quotations;
- Technical and commercial independence, capable of delivering a holistic understanding of a Nuclear and Aerospace project;
- Fluency in English;
- International experience;
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in diverse cultural settings;
- Proven ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously and meet deadlines;
- Demonstrated negotiation skills with a capacity for active listening and analysis;
- Engineering experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
