About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analysis Software Engineer to join our team at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF). The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced algorithms and software for scanning X-ray applications, primarily for spectroscopy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and optimize software and algorithms for data processing and analysis in scanning X-ray applications.
  • Collaborate with ESRF beamlines and other engineers to deploy and operate data processing pipelines.
  • Explore new avenues in analysis using machine learning approaches and other novel techniques.
Requirements
  • Higher university degree in a relevant field, such as Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • Three years of experience in X-ray data processing and analysis.
  • Extensive programming skills in Python, with knowledge of graphical user interfaces development using PyQt.
  • Strong background in natural sciences or mathematics.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in English.
