**Yield Assessment and Performance Manager**
Renewables Global Business Unit (R-GBU) is supporting the Group to accelerate Renewables (RES) asset development with an EBIT around €1.1Bn. We count 4,000 employees and more than 50 nationalities across 20 countries. With an installed capacity of 32 GW across 4 Operational Areas, R-GBU manages a diversified portfolio of assets including Solar (3.5 GW), Wind (10.9 GW) and Hydro (17.7 GW) assets. Our ambition is to multiply by 2.6 our installed capacity with 80 GW in 2030.
**Purpose of the job**:
Provide leadership, guidance and support directly and through the team on matters to:
(a) Business Development teams at R-GBU HQ and operational areas related to Energy Resource Assessment, Yield Assessment, Plant configuration, layout and design, equipment selection, and optimisation of cost and performance to achieve the relevant levers for maximise competitiveness and drive down LCOE and lifetime cost of ownership; identification and inclusion of practical and bankable innovative cost effective solutions to deliver successful projects and/or increase value from projects; Optimisation of Hybrid Plants including those with BESS integration.
(b) Provide a direct support to regions to perform Yield assessments, layouts and configurations of projects, carry out second look and projects reviews, analyse the performance of renewable assets in operation.
(c) Provide the necessary inputs and reviews related to Performance Test requirements in equipment supply and EPC contracts for “Best in Class”, clear demonstration of performance and competitive requirements;
(d) Provide relevant input for making informed on the decisions on the run/repair/replace criteria for PV Modules and WTGs and obsolescence management of the same
(e) Discriminate the underperformance of Renewable Assets through assessment with clear RCAs and create and communicate the REX accordingly.
(f) Maintain the necessary information on performance of plant and equipment from different OEMs, service providers and technical consultants keeping abreast of developments within the market.
(g) Estimate the financial risk for ENGIE linked to an underperformance of an asset
(h) contribute to peer reviews and project reviews to increase competitiveness, mitigate/manage risk and achieve the required technical and commercial performance;
(i) Use the Group’s and department communication tools to deploy all standards and REX related to performance topics.
(j) Participate in the improvement of digital tools for estimation, analyses and improvements in plant performance;
(k) Prepare active inputs into ENGIE initiatives on performance of Wind and/or Solar PV as well as hybridisation of technologies including with Battery Energy Storage;
(l) Participate in training of department teams and **regi **ons’ **staff to increase the depth and quality and multi-skilling of ENGIE staff.
**Key Accountabilities**:
**Watch & Assess**
- Watch and assess innovations, product and market developments and best practices related to Wind and/or Solar Technologies especially on modelling tools with a view to optimal utilisation of the renewable energy resource.
- Participate in the benchmark operational performance, actual vs modelled solar and/or wind resource and the resource conversion both within and outside ENGIE and also utilise the same to support Business Development and operations.
- Contribute in the digitalization to improve plant operational performance
- Contribute in the standardization of performance guarantees provided by equipment suppliers and EPC Contractors
**Policies, Objectives & KPI’s**
- Become a reference Expert in term of performance of renewable assets including hybrid plants within the RGBU
- Mitigate R-GBU’s exposure due to under-performance of new plants and where ENGIE is the EPC(M) Contractor and/or main equipment supplier.
- Contribute in the implementation of ENGIE governance, policies, and KPIs related to Solar PV and/or Wind activities
**Procedures, methods & sharing**
- Develop, input into & drive R-GBU’s Business Case Guidelines, Performance models, Procedures and Plant Life Cycle Management processes, monitor the roll out and compliance.
- Share knowledge and experience in Wind and/or Solar using the knowledge management policy of the departments, particularly with respect to performance.
- Lead REX, best practices sharing on technical aspects between all different entities of R-GBU and others such as Tractebel and Laborelec.
- Contribute to and coordinate performance matters in the operational excellence programme with Laborelec and the R&I roadmap.
**Implementation**
- Organise and provide direct support on the allocated projects to BD teams on Solar, Wind and Hybrid projects on ERA, yield assessment, equipment selection, optimisation of configuration and layout and performance inputs into the project financial model.
