Job Summary
Job Responsibilities
- Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve materials and products.
- Load and unload trailers, ensuring accurate documentation and proper handling of goods.
- Stage products for outbound shipments and receive inbound materials, verifying quantities and inspecting for damage.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety guidelines and company policies.
- Assist with inventory counts and contribute to maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- May be required to perform other general warehouse duties as needed.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and/or proven experience operating various types of forklifts (e.g., counterbalance, reach, order picker).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and practices.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly and perform physical tasks associated with warehouse operations.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Basic computer skills are a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
