French Content and Growth Associate

TL;DR: We're hiring a bilingual (French/English), France-based content associate to own and grow Hallow's French-language app - creating and curating original prayer content, and overseeing end-to-end content operations. This role also includes 4-5 months of maternity leave coverage for French marketing, spanning lifecycle marketing, social media, and influencer coordination. This is a rare opportunity to combine theology, writing, content leadership, and growth in service of a mission-driven product reaching French-speakers around the world.
What You'll Do
Direct all French-language content operations and build a comprehensive content library: You'll create thousands of hours of original prayer content for our community across the French-speaking world, coordinating closely with audio production, engineering, voiceover, translation, and external partners.
Acquire, translate, and write prayers: This role requires the ability to research prayers and prayer traditions from around the world to ensure thoughtful representation, accurately translate prayers from English into French, and write original prayers in French. A strong background in theology and writing is essential.
Work with French-speaking guest contributors: You'll reach out to a wide range of speakers, authors, theologians, religious, and other contributors to gather guest content such as prayer sessions and Bible stories. At times, you'll attend live recordings (in person or online). You should be comfortable initiating new relationships and enjoy working with a diverse group of collaborators.
Own the content operations and development cycle end-to-end: You'll support all aspects of launching content in the app, including negotiating contract terms, sending payments to guest contributors, conducting quality assurance (QA), booking recording studios, and managing the placement and release of content. A willingness to jump in and strong attention to detail are essential.
Drive toward key goals: You'll be accountable to the Head of International for hitting key performance indicators (KPIs) across content production, community retention, and partnerships, and will be responsible for setting quarterly goals for the French content team.
Collaborate with Growth and Product teams: You'll occasionally work with the Growth team to provide input on ads, messaging, and emails, and with the Product team as they continue building and refining the app in French. Being part of a startup means collaborating across many functions. Marketing Maternity Leave Coverage: We're also looking for someone who can cover the maternity leave of our marketing colleague for 4–5 months. During this time, you'll work cross-functionally with marketing, design, and our international pod, covering the following responsibilities:Lifecycle marketing: Assist in executing our lifecycle marketing (LCM) strategy across email, push, and SMS for French markets. You'll support copywriting, translation, transculturation, and navigating best practices and cultural differences in marketing communications.
Manage the creative pipeline: Assist with influencer relationships as we continue to expand and refine our library of influencer-created content and user-generated content (UGC) to drive efficiency across acquisition channels.
Social media and community engagement: Assist in managing our day-to-day presence across French social media accounts, engaging with our user base, and driving growth through thoughtful, compelling social conte nt.
What we're looking for: Passion: First & foremost, we're looking for someone excited about our mission. It makes it a lot more fun :)Bilingual (French & English): You are a native speaker of French and a fluent speaker of English.Location: You're based in France for the majority of the year and are able to travel occasionally to audio recordings.  This role will require some late afternoon/early evening work in order to maximize overlap with the U.S. Time Zones. Experience: 2+ years of experience translating content from English into French. Communication: You're an expert communicator and conversationalist. Being able to communicate, negotiate, and build relationships is a must in both French and English. Experience with influencer marketing, partnerships, or relationships with the Catholic Church in the region is a huge bonus.Grit & detail-oriented: We really care about what we're doing & try to build as fast as we can. Since we're guiding meditation and competing with some large players in the market (Calm, Headspace), we have to stand out.
