The Spread Research Team


Spread Research, founded in 2004, is composed of eight credit analysts based in France and Italy. We specialize in fundamental analysis and investment recommendations for the High Yield, Corporate Hybrids, and Convertible bond markets, serving a diverse clientele that includes institutional credit funds, hedge funds, trading desks, private banks, and family offices across Europe. We cover approximately 250 debt issuers in the euro High Yield market and closely track 25 Convertible bond issuers.


With over two decades of expertise, Spread Research has established itself as a leading brand in Europe, particularly in France, where it holds the top position. It is also recognized among the top providers in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and the UK. We are frequently cited in international financial media, showcasing its expert positioning.


Additionally, Spread Research incorporates ESG analysis into its credit research portfolio using an internally developed methodology, enhancing the integration of ESG factors in credit risk assessments.


Job description


We are looking to hire a Credit Research Sales in Lyon (or Paris) to develop our customer base in French speaking areas, Italy, Spain and Portugal, in the growing independent corporate credit research market.


Key responsibilities:


  • Growing the customer base within the business unit: subscription-based independent credit research in European High Yield & Convertible corporate bond issuers, and to institutional bond investors such as insurance companies, asset managers, funds…


  • Assisting, in coordination with the Head of Credit Research and the analysts, in coordinating prospection & marketing research and supporting marketing projects.


Bringing new product ideas and solutions to institutional investors.


Providing constructive feedback to improve client experience.


Maintaining a high level of customer service.


  • Promoting Spread Research know-how at conferences and investor events.


  • Being responsible for the strategic development and business development of the Independent Research Provider High Yield corporate credit research services.


  • Driving new business from Private Banks, Credit Trading Desks, DCM and M&A Advisory and Structured Products Solutions through leveraging credit content.


Candidate requirements:


  • 2 to 5 years of experience in developing strong customer-facing skills with the ability to negotiate successful outcomes.


  • Strong understanding of fixed income products and credit risk issues to provide high analytical and product expertise to institutional clients.


  • Ability to present high-level information and detailed demonstrations of services & products.


  • Maintaining complete and accurate records of activity on the CRM.


  • Advanced level knowledge of Excel.


  • A master’s degree in finance/accounting, other qualifications such as CFA or equivalent is a plus.


  • Fluency in English is mandatory. French or German would be a plus.
