Job Summary: At EPEX SPOT, our Market Data team provides a wide range of data to the power industry including EPEX members and non-members. As Market Data Sales Manager you are the key contact point for our clients and prospects in charge of maintaining and developing new business opportunities thanks to your very good knowledge of the market data products, the quality of your relationship with the customers and your negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1 Customer Care

  • Maintain working relationships with existing clients to ensure that they receive good service and to identify potential new sales opportunities
  • Oversee and respond to customer or prospect inquiries, ensuring timely and effective resolution of their needs and concerns
  • Address customer complaints by collaborating with colleagues responsible for products and services to ensure swift and effective resolution

2 Sales

  • Identify prospects, set appointments, make effective qualifying sales calls, and manage sales cycle to close new business in all service categories
  • Present, promote and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers
  • Prepare and submit proposals and contracts to customers

3 Business Development

  • Identify and cultivate new client opportunities to expand business
  • Propose innovative products or solutions for clients, actively seeking new ideas and challenging existing concepts
  • Sponsor and contribute to customer-centric projects with team members in charge of the market data related topics

Key Requirements:

Hard skills

  • Proven negotiation experience with strong ability to translate data into clear and actionable insights and sales management tools
  • Very good analytical and critical thinking skills to achieve objectives
  • At ease with social media to connect, engage, and drive impactful interactions
  • Knowledge of electronic financial or power markets would be a plus
  • At ease with marketing strategy, tools and collaboration practices with marketing experts
  • Proficiency with sales management software and CRM

Soft Skills:

  • Customer and result-oriented individual who is motivated by challenging sales targets
  • Team player able to manage tasks independently, adjust to changing circumstances, and seamlessly adapt to new challenges and environments
  • Strong ability to balance persuasion with professionalism
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to develop very good and respectful relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders

Language Skills:

  • Fluent English (written and verbal)
  • Professional proficiency in German
  • French would be a plus

Education and Experience :

  • Master’s degree in economics or customer management, or business school or equivalent
  • Minimum 7 years of working experience in sales within a competitive multi-cultural environment along with expertise in project and product management.
  • Proven experience in leadership/managerial
