**ABOUT DESCARTES UNDERWRITING**

After a successful Series B raise of $120M USD, we launched Descartes Insurance, a 'full stack' insurer licensed to underwrite risk by the French regulator ACPR. With a growing corporate client base (350+ and counting), our diverse team is headquartered in Paris and operates out of our 13 global offices in North America, Europe, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan. Descartes is trusted by a panel of A-rated (re)insurers to carry out its activities.
**ABOUT YOUR ROLE**
We are looking for a **Cyber Business Developer Manager** who would help us expand in France to develop our network of corporate brokers and nurture our relationship with risk carriers. The position reports to our Chief Revenue Officer.
You will aid in business development activities in France and your tasks will include:
**COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT**
- Educate SME / Mid market / Corporate brokers to our new cyber solution;
- Interact with targeted brokers on a daily basis to fuel a strong deal pipeline;
- Create and maintain a positive & trust-based relationship with (re)insurers and brokers to secure renewals;
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth underwriting & claim settlement;
- Promote Descartes Underwriting as a centre of excellence for product innovation and emerging risk modelling.
**PRODUCT, MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION**
- Collaborate with the Communication and Marketing team to support sales readiness; Work with the R&D team to keep our product fit for market needs.
**TEAM WORK**
- Effectively collaborate with data science, underwriting and business development teams to meet business objectives;
- Develop and promote an inclusive and multi-cultural environment.
**ABOUT YOU**
**EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS**
- 3-7 years of experience in the Cyber insurance market, as a broker or as a business developer in a “cyber” company;
- Solid understanding of the French insurance market and its localized specificities.
**SKILLS**
- Fluency in French and English (written and verbal communication) - required;
- Good command of one additional language is valued;
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills;
- Strong analytical capabilities and financial acumen.

- Excellent team player, interpersonal and communication skills enable you to be a force for proposal and interact with internal and external stakeholders;
