Job Title: Technical Account Manager (TAM)

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) plays a pivotal role in enhancing revenue, fostering adoption, and driving growth among small- and mid-market accounts as well as enterprise-level clients, including those in the public sector. The AWS Global Support team collaborates with leading organizations, recognizing that exceptional support is vital for customer success. AWS Support also partners with a diverse range of clients who are developing mission-critical applications utilizing AWS services.

Within AWS Enterprise Support, we are seeking a Technical Account Manager (TAM) to empower our clients' innovative and transformative endeavors across various technologies, including Compute, Storage, Database, Big Data / Analytics, Application-level services, Networking, Serverless, and more. The TAM serves as a trusted advisor, guiding customers on their cloud journey and enhancing their understanding of AWS cloud services and technologies to achieve their business objectives.

This position is part of our Strategic Industries team, which focuses on strategic accounts and six industry business units across global sectors - Financial Services, Media and Entertainment, Telecom, Healthcare and Life Sciences, Energy, and Automotive & Manufacturing. The role will specifically support clients in the Automotive & Manufacturing sector.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Cultivate trusting relationships with clients, comprehend their business needs and drivers, review service interruptions, provide monthly/quarterly metrics, and assist with pre-launch preparations.
  • Leverage technical expertise to address complex support issues and technical challenges.
  • Grasp operational parameters and troubleshooting methodologies for client issues and escalations.
  • Advocate for client needs to eliminate adoption barriers and promote new feature development.
  • Enhance client capabilities through workshops, operational reviews, and architectural assessments.
  • Ensure AWS environments maintain operational health while minimizing costs and enhancing efficiencies to mitigate risks in client operational plans and product adoption.
  • Engage with clients at all levels, from developers to C-Suite executives.
  • Collaborate across various functions within AWS, including Solutions Architects, Business Developers, Professional Services Consultants, Global TAM teams, and Sales Account Managers.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with operational parameters and troubleshooting in at least two of the following technical domains: Compute/Storage/Networking/CDN/Databases/DevOps/Big Data and Analytics/Security/Applications Development in a distributed systems environment.
  • Experience in operational services or support environments.
  • Background in working with engineering/technology teams for large clients or a significant segment of a large entity in the Public Sector, Enterprise, or Start-up industry.
  • Proficiency in English and French.
  • Experience in technical internal enterprise or external customer-facing roles.
  • Strong professional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present to an audience containing decision makers.
  • Proven experience in influencing management stakeholders on technical, operational, or business strategic decisions.
  • Familiarity with AWS services and/or other cloud solutions.
