About the Role
The AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) team is dedicated to enhancing revenue, adoption, and growth for a diverse range of clients, from small and mid-market businesses to large enterprise customers, including those in the public sector.

The AWS Global Support team engages with leading organizations, recognizing that exceptional support is vital for customer success. As part of AWS Enterprise Support, we are seeking a Technical Account Manager (TAM) to assist our clients in their innovative cloud journeys across various technologies, such as Compute, Storage, Database, Big Data/Analytics, Application-level services, Networking, Serverless, and more.

The TAM serves as a trusted advisor, guiding customers to enhance their understanding of AWS cloud services and technologies to meet their business objectives. As AWS's Enterprise Support organization continues to grow, there will be numerous opportunities to refine your technical, consulting, operational, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
The TAM is pivotal in delivering value to our Enterprise Support customers, collaborating closely with the dedicated account team. Responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and nurturing trusting relationships with customers, understanding their business needs, reviewing service disruptions, providing regular metrics, and assisting with pre-launch planning.
  • Leveraging technical expertise to address complex support issues and challenges.
  • Understanding operational parameters and troubleshooting processes for customer issues and escalations.
  • Advocating for customer needs to eliminate adoption barriers and promote new feature development.
  • Enhancing customer capabilities through workshops, operational reviews, and architecture assessments.
  • Ensuring AWS environments maintain operational health while optimizing costs and driving efficiencies to mitigate risks in customer operations and product adoption.
  • Engaging with customers at all levels, from developers to C-Suite executives.
  • Collaborating across various AWS functions, including Solutions Architects, Business Developers, Professional Services Consultants, Global TAM teams, and Sales Account Managers.

Basic Qualifications
* 3+ years of experience with operational parameters and troubleshooting in at least two of the following technical domains: Compute, Storage, Networking, CDN, Databases, DevOps, Big Data and Analytics, Security, Applications Development in a distributed systems environment.
* Experience in operational services or support environments.
* Experience collaborating with engineering or technology teams for large customers or significant segments of large entities in the Public Sector, Enterprise, or Startup industries.
* Fluency in English and French is preferred.
* Technical experience in internal enterprise or external customer-facing roles.
* Strong oral and written communication skills, with experience presenting to decision-makers.
* Proven ability to influence management stakeholders on technical, operational, or business strategic decisions.
* Familiarity with AWS services and/or other cloud offerings.
