Senior Communications Strategist for Southern Europe

We're seeking an experienced communications professional to lead our communications efforts in Southern Europe, covering France, Italy, and Spain. This role is based in Paris, France.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and executing communications plans that support business needs and manage day-to-day execution. They will also be able to identify and tell stories that showcase the benefits of OpenAI's technologies in Southern Europe and build trust in our company.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing communications plans for Southern Europe that support business needs and manage day-to-day execution.
  • Proactively identifying and telling stories that show the benefits of OpenAI's technologies in Southern Europe and build trust in our company.
  • Forging deep relationships with media and handling enquiries on a number of issues.
  • Identifying public speaking and media opportunities and preparing and briefing spokespeople.
  • Being a core member of the French office team, providing strategic counsel and support.
  • Briefing and preparing executives in France and from the US.
  • Partnering cross-functionally with teams including GTM, Legal, Global Affairs, Research, etc.

We're looking for a blend of qualifications, including:

  • 12+ years of professional PR and Media Relations experience.
  • Proven success in building relationships and collaborating with media, commentators, creators, executives, partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in corporate, b2b, technology, and consumer communications - across traditional media and online platforms, knowledge of AI.
  • Proven experience of supporting and briefing executives (local and from the US).
  • Experience working in international roles for global companies.
  • Experience managing agency partners.

  • Have excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to craft clear, compelling messages.
  • Have experience handling sensitive issues with the media.
  • Are comfortable in a fast-paced environment managing high-profile stories under tight deadlines.
  • Have the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Have knowledge of French and Southern Europe cultural and business landscape to tailor PR strategies effectively.
