About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Specialist to join our team at ENGIE Group. As a Data Governance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the proper operationalization of Data Governance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Data Governance Roadmap and Program Monitoring:
  • Assist the Chief Data Officer in defining the Data Office roadmap, considering data-centric strategies involving Data Science and AI initiatives.
  • Ensure that the Data Office roadmap is updated regularly.
  • Define and monitor KPIs to track the advancement of the governance program.
  • Assist the Chief Data Officer in prioritizing data subjects and contribute to the construction of the IS roadmap on Data subjects.
  • Assist the Chief Data Officer in organizing and preparing data committees.
Data Office Resource and Budget Monitoring:
  • Ensure resource and budget availability and allocation for the Data Office.
  • Make resource and budget allocation adjustments as needed.
  • Report and escalate to the Chief Data Officer as necessary.
Change Management/Acculturation:
  • Communicate and promote the governance framework to identified audiences using prescribed channels.
  • Participate with HR in developing skills improvement plans for data actors.
  • Inform HR of new data roles nominations.
  • Support the onboarding of new data roles.
Use Cases Identification and Data Governance Linkage:
  • Identify strategic use cases with opportunities to deploy the governance framework.
  • Ensure that data roles are identified and nominated in use cases, especially where data pain points are detected.
  • Communicate and supervise Data Office policies by identified data roles.
  • Ensure that identified data roles include data objectives in the use cases they intervene in.
  • Monitor data management KPIs: quality, access, etc.
  • Monitor major issues and problems.
  • Identify opportunities for evolution of the Data Governance framework and ensure they are processed.
  • Guarantee the proper evolution of the data catalog and quality of its content regarding users' needs.
Requirements
  • Must have:
  • Excellent analytical skills, combined with a hands-on approach.
  • Strong understanding of information management tools and trading systems.
  • Good to have:
  • The capability and/or interest in code languages (Python, etc.).
  • Must have:
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication.
  • Eager to learn with a strong business drive.
  • Well-organized and proactive.
  • Ability to interact with both business and IT teams.
  • Good to have:
  • Good knowledge of the energy industry.
Education and Professional Background

5-10 years of professional experience in a similar role or in a business analyst capacity, with ideally a previous experience in data management initiatives.

Language
  • Fluent in French and English, Dutch a plus.
Travel

Some travel may be required in the various locations where ENGIE Group has offices.
