The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Engineering Manager to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for coordinating system engineering studies for our projects and leading those studies. You will interface with clients, partners, and third parties to define transportation systems and ensure that they meet the required specifications.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of system specifications, including functional, architectural, transverse, and interface documents.
  • Obtain customer/engineer acceptance of system specifications.
  • Organize engineering activities, including priorities, schedules, and delivery, in liaison with the Project Engineering Manager.
  • Produce system specification and interface documents in coordination with subsystem design teams.
  • Follow up on the demonstration of compliance to contractual requirements and their allocation to subsystems, and obtain customer/engineer approval.
  • Lead the verification and demonstration of system performances through design.
  • Support subsystems in their technical discussions with customers/engineers.
  • Manage interface definition with the support of the E&M interface manager.

Main Required Competences

  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Knowledge of railway systems, operating requirements, available equipment, and systems.
  • At least 5 years of experience in engineering/technical functions in the railway industry, including at least 3 years in managerial positions in turnkey railway international projects.
  • Expertise in system engineering.
  • Fluency in English and French, and fluency in contract language.
  • Good coordination and communication skills.
  • Promote teamwork.
  • Knowledge of system engineering methodology (MBSE).
  • Ability to challenge subsystem solutions for global optimization.
