Technical Sales and Support Manager – France

Position Overview:

The Technical Sales and Support Manager will report directly to the Head of Sales for the APAC, BENELUX & Southern Europe regions. This role is primarily home-based within France and requires significant travel, approximately 50-70%, for essential meetings and engagements.

Our core business revolves around the production and distribution of Accoya solid wood and Tricoya MDF wood elements, with our manufacturing facility located in Arnhem, the Netherlands.

Role Focus:

The primary objective of this position is to drive sales growth within the French market. The Technical Sales and Support Manager will enhance the commercial and technical engagement with distributors and merchants, aligning closely with the French sales manager to foster product specification among architects and increase overall sales and revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Support:

  1. Achieve sales targets by collaborating with distributor and merchant teams.
  2. Conduct joint key account visits to develop Approved Manufacturers (AMP) and Approved Installers (AIP).
  3. Perform independent visits to AMP/AIP.
  4. Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities in existing and new market segments.
  5. Conduct competitive and market analysis.
  6. Engage in joint and independent visits to architectural and industrial clients with distributors and merchants.
  7. Establish new distributor entities or sub-distributor networks.
  8. Collaborate closely with distributors and merchants on significant projects.
  9. Maintain direct communication with Accsys marketing and Quality Control teams in the EU.
  10. Provide regular updates and reports through CRM systems.
  11. Meet key performance indicators set in collaboration with the head of sales.

Technical Support:

  1. Deliver technical assistance to distributors and merchants, along with their clients.
  2. Train and validate AMP/AIP (OEMs and installers) to boost sales.
  3. Promote awareness of technical testing, eco-labeling, and certification to enhance sales.
  4. Expand the System Supplier network with reputable brands in fixings, hardware, adhesives, sealants, and coatings.
  5. Optimize value enhancement with Accoya and explore new product applications.
  6. Maintain direct communication with the technical support team in the EU/UK.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Proven experience in sales and technical support for specialty, high-performance wood or construction-related products, particularly in cladding, decking, and joinery.
  2. Strong technical understanding of downstream applications of products.
  3. A reliable, proactive, and hands-on approach to work, with a focus on collaboration and innovation to resolve challenges and identify new sales opportunities.
  4. Ability to work independently while engaging market stakeholders effectively.
  5. Proficiency in both French and English is essential.
  6. Competence in Office 365, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
  7. Familiarity with CRM systems is preferred.
