Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to join our Biopharma Business Development team at Guardant Health. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in growing our Biopharma business by developing and maintaining existing customer relationships, building new customer connections, and supporting the development of new accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with drug development companies to build partnerships using ctDNA-based clinical trial services for biomarker discovery and development.
  • Manage new account onboarding activities, including lead generation, CRM data entry, due diligence, and contract negotiation, while supporting strategic account initiatives and identifying new connections.
  • Guide and educate potential partners, including biomarker researchers, translational medicine scientists, clinical development teams, and global commercial teams, on the value of our ctDNA-based clinical trial services.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Research Operations, Alliance Management, Bioinformatics, Quality, Medical Affairs, Legal, and Finance, to address customer needs and deliver an outstanding customer experience.
  • Develop a strategy to expand existing transactional business to more fully integrated partnerships across Guardant's suite of capabilities.
  • Partner closely with the EU commercial team to leverage synergies between the clinical and biopharma business segments and articulate Guardant's global value proposition to biopharma partners.
Requirements
  • Prior business development, sales, and/or consulting experience, preferably in biopharma, diagnostics, CROs, or related life sciences areas.
  • Strong desire to communicate complex business justifications, develop and close successful cross-functional collaborations, and bring in repeat business from multiple customers.
  • In-depth knowledge of oncology, companion diagnostics, and requirements to support global clinical trials.
  • Knowledge of the European clinical diagnostics market, including regulatory and reimbursement landscape.
  • Ability to build and service multiple opportunities simultaneously, balancing emerging relationships with ongoing ones, addressing needs on time.
  • Strong contracting and presentation skills, good problem-solving skills, and a good analytic skillset.
  • Motivated to grow the business, not just your patch, and see the broader team succeed.
  • Ability to prioritize and focus on the important, not just the urgent.
  • BA/BS scientific and/or business degree with 8-10 years of experience (Advanced degree, M.B.A. highly desired).
