Position Overview:

The Reporting Center of Excellence serves as an internal consultancy dedicated to:

  • Creating and managing content related to accounting standards across various annual and interim reports, including the URD, Half-Year Report, and Climate Report;
  • Conducting thorough reviews of external disclosures to ensure compliance with statutory requirements for financial publications;
  • Preparing presentations for the Group Executive Committee (COMEX) and Group Audit Committee on intricate accounting transactions and external reporting, while also contributing to governance processes concerning the Group's consolidated accounts;
  • Evaluating complex transactions in accordance with IFRS and local accounting standards, reviewing business documentation, and drafting relevant accounting memos in collaboration with business units and local teams;
  • Leading the ongoing development and integration of sustainability reporting into audit-ready processes, leveraging best practices in financial reporting to support the implementation of CSRD within SCOR;
  • Monitoring developments in IFRS 17 and local accounting standards, analyzing their implications, and coordinating financial lobbying efforts;
  • Designing and delivering IFRS training sessions for the finance community;
  • Documenting and developing SCOR's accounting interpretations and positions.

The CoE is actively engaged in projects that influence financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with auditors and various finance teams, including Group Consolidation, Life and P&C Reporting, and local entity finance teams;
  • Assist the Head of the Center of Excellence in coordinating and presenting accounting analyses for COMEX and Audit Committee presentations;
  • Lead investigations and resolutions of IFRS/local GAAP/S2 accounting inquiries through comprehensive research and application of SCOR's accounting guidelines;
  • Work proactively with finance teams, legal entities, and Business Units on IFRS 17 or local GAAP accounting issues, contributing to long-term projects or agile responses;
  • Document and communicate a range of accounting issues and policies, ensuring updates and improvements are made as necessary;
  • Draft and implement finance policies and procedures for externally reported information;
  • Stay informed on IFRS developments, contributing to impact assessments of accounting and reporting changes for the Group;
  • Support and participate in IFRS training to ensure the finance team maintains core IFRS knowledge;
  • Contribute to the URD and HYR processes by producing relevant content and reviewing draft reports.

Required Experience & Competencies:

Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of the (re)insurance industry, with a focus on actuarial or accounting profiles;
  • Experience in auditing and analyzing consolidated financial statements;
  • Familiarity with accounting or regulatory standards and projects;
  • 7 to 12 years of experience in a Big 4 firm or equivalent industry experience.

Required Education:

  • University degree, business school, or equivalent (Bac+5).
