As we expand our operations, Dailymotion is eager to strengthen its Partner Solutions Team. You will be instrumental in establishing the foundational elements of our product and collaborating closely with Front Developers, Designers, and Scrum Masters to create innovative features.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and nurture a team of Development Engineers through effective hiring, constructive feedback, and hands-on career development. Foster a healthy, collaborative engineering culture that prioritizes delivering business value.
- Oversee the workload and project assignments of your direct reports while participating in company-wide staffing initiatives. Advocate for agile software development practices and help cultivate exemplary engineering and organizational methodologies.
- Collaborate closely with fellow engineering managers and product managers to understand the context of incoming requirements, shape solutions, and translate product needs into actionable projects. Regularly engage with engineering managers from related teams to optimize our use cases and enhance efficiency.
- Ensure timely project delivery by reviewing, directing, and guiding the work of all engineers, either directly or through senior engineers.
- Drive team productivity by establishing the technical vision for the core platform that supports all our use cases.
- Contribute to roadmap development and delivery, as well as strategic company decisions.
- A technical manager with the ability to comprehend project details. Previous experience as a manager or team lead, preferably in a development engineering context, is required.
- Proven ability to challenge and develop team members: you can critique technical designs and project timelines, promote experimentation, and uphold quality standards.
- Capability to articulate and present a compelling vision/roadmap for your team.
- A successful engineering background with comfort in delivering projects even with ambiguous requirements (testing, delivery, maintenance, refactoring, bug fixing): you possess a systems-thinking mindset that understands how components fit together.
- Deliver high-quality, tested code on schedule, adhering to industry best practices and meeting all product and technical specifications.
- Ability to collaborate with various business segments (product, data) and multiple stakeholders (engineers, infrastructure, product managers, devops, etc.).
- A demonstrable passion for technology, consistently suggesting improvements for better code, faster delivery, and easier maintenance.
- Proficient in written and verbal English (documentation, team presentations, meetings).
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
- Familiarity with web development, web architecture, HTTP, JSON/RPC, REST API.
- Experience with collaborative software engineering techniques: agile development, continuous delivery, code review/pairing, unit testing, etc.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture.
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React/Preact or similar).
- Demonstrated interest in problem-solving and technical innovation.
- Understanding of Python or PHP.
- Experience with JavaScript SDK development.
- Familiarity with SQL databases (MySQL).
- Experience with continuous integration, continuous deployment testing, and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins) and Docker.
- Interest in clean architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and event-driven architecture.
