Position Overview

The Project Engineering Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the Project Manager and various teams involved in the implementation and design phases of significant projects. This position is essential for ensuring that technical and practical planning assistance is provided throughout the lifecycle of projects. The Project Engineering Coordinator is tasked with creating comprehensive project plans, assessing and analyzing vendor designs, and addressing technical challenges while adhering to local safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Project Administrators, cross-functional teams, and external vendors to devise and implement strategies that improve project efficiency.
  • Work alongside the Project Manager and Design Team to review and provide technical insights, as well as resolve issues to facilitate project approvals and installations.
  • Assist in the procurement process by evaluating vendor proposals, designs, and estimates related to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Propose and assess innovative concepts and methods to enhance production, efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor ongoing work and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Maintain thorough documentation for projects, including specifications, submittals, designs, and schedules.
  • Participate in regular coordination meetings, review design and construction documents, and provide recommendations as necessary.
  • Coordinate with the Project Management Team to track potential scope changes and ensure all change management is communicated effectively.
  • Oversee site progress to ensure quality control and adherence to agreed-upon plans and specifications.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should possess a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to fulfill the responsibilities of this role, including:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three to five years of experience in project engineering or related fields.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems.
  • Familiarity with chilled water systems is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit software.
  • Experience in project development and implementation for large-scale initiatives.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Field experience is beneficial.
  • Certifications such as EPA 608 and/or NATE are a plus.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
