Management Overview

In response to increasing cybersecurity threats and global information risks, AXA is committed to maintaining a robust second line of defense. This ensures that risks are effectively managed and that our risk appetite is adhered to. While the responsibility for information protection is shared across all AXA entities, the Group Information Risk Management (GIRM) department plays a pivotal role in guiding and overseeing these efforts.

The Information Risk Advisory team is tasked with equipping the Group Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and the CROs of individual entities with the necessary tools to effectively manage Information Risk and provide independent assessments on critical decisions.

Our approach includes thorough reviews of projects, initiatives, and key risks, active participation in executive committees, collaboration with Technology and Security teams, and providing training to CRO teams. We cover a wide array of topics, from designing AI risk frameworks to advising on strategic priorities for Group Security projects.

Position Overview

The INFORMATION RISK MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST will oversee a portfolio of independent reviews concerning Information risks. This role involves conducting studies and monitoring remediation actions to ensure compliance with the risk and control framework established by the first line of defense, both at the Group level and within specific entities.

The team benefits from diverse expertise, and the SPECIALIST will enhance this with substantial experience in security and a solid understanding of risk management. Backgrounds in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and project management are advantageous. The role includes advising executive officers and producing professional reports for senior management.

The SPECIALIST will collaborate closely with the GIRM 'Framework & Report' team to enhance risk management capabilities across entities, contribute to our risk models, and build relationships with stakeholders throughout the Group. A commitment to teamwork and embodying AXA's values of courage and unity is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct independent reviews of Information risks:
    • Define the scope of reviews;
    • Analyze projects and processes to identify potential risks;
    • Conduct stakeholder interviews;
    • Establish verification programs to assess control effectiveness;
    • Draft reports that highlight concerns and provide actionable recommendations;
    • Present findings to senior management;
    • Monitor the implementation of remediation actions.
  • Influence operational and risk management leaders by presenting well-supported opinions on risks and projects.
  • Assist entities in establishing local review processes.
  • Contribute to maintaining the Group's internal control framework related to Technology, Data Management, and Procurement processes, while fostering the Information Risk Management Community:
    • Support business units in Information risk and vendor risk frameworks;
    • Facilitate the sharing of best practices and technological advancements within the global community.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Risk Management, Technology, or Information Systems/Security.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with information systems, preferably within the Financial Services sector.
  • Experience in risk assessments or auditing.
  • Relevant industry-recognized certifications.

Technical and Professional Skills

  • Strong interest in technology and emerging trends in a digital landscape.
  • Expertise in Information Security.
  • Familiarity with Technology/Security frameworks such as ITIL, ISO 2700x, COBIT, NIST, ISF, etc.
  • Understanding of information risk, vendor risk, and operational risk management.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks in the Financial Services industry.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to constructively challenge in a collaborative setting.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on reliability and quality.
  • Capacity to thrive in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.

Communication Skills

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in creating and delivering presentations and documentation for executive audiences.
  • Able to engage with senior management and various stakeholders.
  • Experience working in an international and multicultural context.
  • Skilled in eliciting cooperation from diverse sources, including management and business experts.
  • Fluency in English.

Managerial Skills

  • Project management or assignment management skills are essential.
