About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Manager to join our team at Gleeds Corporate Services Ltd. As a Cost Manager, you will be responsible for managing costs and budgets of data centers construction projects.

Responsibilities
  • Support Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.
  • Deliver high-quality services and ensure that cost management deliverables meet Customers' requirements.
  • Manage projects and deliver high-quality services and deliverables in accordance with business procedures.
  • Prepare and present order of cost estimates and option studies.
  • Cost planning.
  • Cost-in-use studies.
  • Advise on and implement procurement strategies.
  • Prepare tender documentation and manage the tender process, including designing tender marking schemes.
  • Evaluate and report on tenders.
  • Value completed work and arrange for payments.
  • Settle final accounts.
  • Administer contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent.
  • Produce and present reports to Customers.
  • Identify new business development opportunities and drive growth across the Business Units' activities.
  • Manage service delivery for profit.
  • Advise Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Sound cost management experience in national projects (in France) or both nationally and internationally.
  • Experience in Data Centres projects.
  • Sound knowledge and practical experience of cost estimating and planning.
  • Good knowledge of construction methods and materials.
  • Working knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies.
  • Good knowledge and experience of post-contract cost management tasks.
  • Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Methodical way of thinking and approach to work.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving, negotiating, finance, and numeracy management skills.
  • Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily.
  • Clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in French and English - not lower than C1.
