Position Overview
AWS is on the lookout for an exceptional sales leader to oversee our international client partnerships with some of the most significant Energy corporations globally.


Role Responsibilities
The Global Account Manager will take charge of steering and managing global accounts across specific business sectors. Your role will involve establishing and nurturing essential relationships, identifying and managing business opportunities, overseeing deployment initiatives, and collaborating with virtual teams.

You will craft strategies for engaging with CXO-level executives within the account, which includes liaising with AWS's senior leadership for executive sponsorships, organizing executive business reviews, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.


About AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services
This division is dedicated to driving revenue, fostering adoption, and promoting growth among the largest and fastest-growing small to mid-market accounts, as well as enterprise-level clients, including those in the public sector.


Key Responsibilities
The Global Account Manager will collaborate closely with the client's IT department to forge strategic relationships throughout the account, articulating a compelling vision and generating enthusiasm that resonates across all business units.

Your responsibilities will include selling at the highest strategic levels within the account and executing a comprehensive strategy to gain customer acceptance and facilitate service implementation.

You will coordinate with all relevant AWS resources (Executives, Solution Architects, Business Development, Marketing, Partners, Support, Service teams, and Professional Services) to advocate for customer interests. This role also entails a dotted line responsibility for downstream sales and technical resources that may be located in various regions.


Case Studies and References
Developing formal case studies and other reference materials that showcase activities and workloads operating on AWS is a fundamental aspect of this position.

Basic Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in a technology company as the primary account and relationship manager for a large global organization.
  • Knowledge of the Energy sector.
  • Experience with Cloud Solutions.
  • Fluency in English and French; Spanish is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as the main account manager for a global federated enterprise, working across multiple business units and influencing governance and policy.
  • BA or BS degree in computer science, engineering, business, marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record in negotiating large, complex deals and establishing credibility with senior executives across organizations.
  • Strong understanding of AWS and/or technology as a service (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS) is preferred but not mandatory.
