The role will be responsible to lead the local team of reserving actuaries, building a high-performing, expert and efficient WELA reserving team who deliver quality timely analytics and business insights.

You will work closely with the other Finance functions as well as the other actuarial teams in the Group, and You will develop and organize the interactions with the local teams of Pricing, Technical Accounting, and Business.

You will play an active role in the transformation of the L&H reserving processes in cooperation with your peers leading the other EMEA reserving teams and with the EMEA Head of L&H Reserving.

**Key duties and responsibilities**

**Operational activities**
- Oversee the production of the IFRS17, Solvency II and French GAAP reserves for the WELA scope (Western Europe and Latin America), including the production of appropriate sensitivities and analysis of changes
- Manage model and assumption change activity, including robust forward planning of reserving impacts across all reporting bases/metrics and coordination with relevant stakeholders
- Ensure that appropriate and auditable controls, reconciliations and documentation are maintained with respect to all reserving processes
- Manage the external audits and relationships with local auditors in relation to WELA reserving topics
- Ensure the peer review of the cashflows production for some large seriatim treaties and provide expertise on reserving topics and methods to the local team
- Collaborate with Global Actuarial Center and Group Actuarial to perform reserves reviews

**Other areas**
- Oversee and develop the team under your responsibility to build and maintain a best-in-class function
- Work closely with the EMEA CFO team and provide the reserving support for the quarterly closings
- Produce the overall actuarial narrative to support the Business Performance teams, contribute to the quarterly landings
- Develop and improve the interactions between WELA Reserving, Pricing, Technical Accounting, Business Unit, Inforce management and Operations teams.
- Contribute to the T&S initiatives to optimize, simplify and transform WELA L&H reserving processes. Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the tools,
- Actively participate in reserving communities, working in an open and collaborative manner with all finance and other stakeholders

**Required experience & competencies**
- Qualified Actuary with min 12 years PQE
- Significant experience in reserving across IFRS17 and Solvency II.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to analyze data, and develop recommendations and action plans
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team. Experience mentoring and developing talent within the team.
- Capacity to structure the activity, to provide visibility and meaning,
- Solution-oriented, pragmatic, and constructive
- Capacity to stand back to guarantee proper framing and prioritization, and to handle changes either chosen or imposed
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to establish strong relationships with other functions locally and across the Group
- Strong ability and willingness to work in a collaborative environment across multiple stakeholders.

**Required Education**
- Qualified Actuary with min 12 years PQE.
