Bell Labs
Nokia Bell Labs is the world-renowned research arm of Nokia, having invented many of the foundational technologies that underpin information and communications networks and all digital devices and systems. This research has produced nine Nobel Prizes, five Turing Awards and numerous other awards.

**Bell Labs Intern**
Nokia Bell Labs is building the future of human experience and our interns will have the opportunity to learn from and work with industry leading experts, who solve the most formidable challenges confronting our world through disruptive innovation and research.

**Education Recommendations**
Duration: 6 months.

**What you will learn and contribute to**

As part of our team on Predictive Maintenance you will contribute to the following efforts:

- Design and analyze algorithms for predictive maintenance solutions
- Experiments with methods at the frontier of causal inference and machine learning
- Write papers for publication if/when results justify

As part of our team on Sparse Inference you will contribute to the following efforts:

- Design and analyze algorithms for object detection and classification
- Work on fusion of signals from sensors such as cameras, lidars, radars
- Develop a working proof-of-concept sparse machine learning model

**What is Nokia looking for from me**

For the project on Predictive Maintenance, you have:

- Advanced understanding of probabilistic graphical models such as Bayesian networks,
- Advanced understanding of ML and deep learning techniques for time series analysis
- Strong skills in Python or Matlab programming

It would be nice if you also had:

- Understanding of Causal models
- Experience with analytics platform SPARK

For project on Sparse Inference, you have
- Excellent knowledge on image processing/computer vision
- Advanced understanding of deep learning
- Excellent knowledge on python and related programming techniques

It would be nice if you also had:

- Advanced knowledge of TensorFlow or PyTorch
- Advanced knowledge of scikit-learn
