As part of their growth strategy, we are seeking a dynamic Key Account Manager to drive business development and secure new partnerships with OEMs.
Role Overview:
As the Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing strategic relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in the automotive industry. Your primary focus will be on winning new business, expanding market share, and driving the adoption of kinematic systems in automotive interior applications. You will act as the primary point of contact for your accounts, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of innovative solutions that meet customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities with automotive OEMs, focusing on expanding the market for our kinematic systems in vehicle interiors.
- Account Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers within OEM accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to meet revenue and growth targets, leveraging market insights and customer feedback.
- Proposal Development: Lead the preparation of proposals, quotations, and commercial offers in response to customer requirements, ensuring competitive positioning and profitability.
- Negotiation: Drive contract negotiations with OEMs, including pricing, terms and conditions, and partnership agreements, to secure new business while protecting the company’s interests.
- Product Expertise: Gain in-depth knowledge of kinematic systems and their applications in automotive interiors to effectively present and demonstrate their value to customers.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform sales strategies and identify growth opportunities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, R&D, product management, and marketing teams to ensure alignment on customer needs and product development initiatives.
- Customer Advocacy: Act as the voice of the customer internally, ensuring that feedback and requirements are communicated clearly to the relevant teams.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates on account activities, sales forecasts, and business development efforts to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in business development, key account management, or sales within the automotive industry, preferably with a focus on interiors or kinematic systems.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of automotive OEMs, their purchasing processes, and the interior systems market.
- Technical Acumen: Familiarity with kinematic systems and their application in automotive interiors is highly preferred.
- Sales Skills: Proven track record of securing new business and achieving sales targets, with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field. An MBA or technical background in mechanical/electrical engineering is a plus.
- Travel: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to meet with OEM customers.
