**Deliveroo Groceries / Deliveroo Hop**

Deliveroo launched its Grocery business in late 2019 partnering primarily with national retailers but also hyper local brands such as bakeries, wine specialists, or late night offerings. The acceleration of the category in Deliveroo's mix makes it an exciting area of the business to lead. Also in September 2021, Deliveroo Hop, Deliveroo's speedy grocery delivery service launched.

Our mission is to deliver groceries to customers around the world - from the weekly shop, to a last minute dinner party or a late night snack. Working with trusted grocers, Deliveroo Hop promises to bring customers the very best products at lightning speed.

**The Role**

As the Director of Groceries and Quick E-Commerce, you will report to the France General Manager. You are a great senior operator with responsibility for growing a significant portion of Deliveroo's revenue. Your role will be commercially focused, however you will work with other teams including Operations, Marketing and Product to ensure success.

You will be based in our offices in Paris.

You will manage the Grocery and Quick E-Commerce P&L and challenge top lines and cost base to ensure profitability

You will coordinate all levers to develop and scale our Grocery business in France: Sales, Account Management, Store Operations, Marketing

You will lead the Grocery commercial strategy in France and be the main contact for all France interactions: Core team, HQ team, and Main Groceries partners

You will manage in a sustainable way the growth by defining the signing strategy with the best partners and rolling out the best retailers and specialists stores.

You will structure and develop the Grocery business in "verticals", ensure we have the right Grocery mix in each region to delight our customers following our Grocery missions and moments

You will partner with our Product team to include test and roll out client and partner-centric features in/from our tech roadmap

You will work in close collaboration with the local PR team and HQ to ensure the best coverage of Grocery projects in France

You will scale our Grocery process (e.g. launch plan, sales, marketing plan, expansion/selection review,) scale our Grocery team and work with Marketing, Rider Ops, and Communication team to ensure grocery partners success

You will develop the Grocery and Hop team to handle exponential growth, attract and retain talents

**Role Requirements**

You are strategic, a people manager and have strong analytical skills
- Background 10+ years working in commercial focused roles with P&L responsibility, with an understanding of the grocery industry in France
- Experience in the grocery industry or in a Consulting Firm working on grocery problematics
- Meaningful and successful management experience ( 5 years + of managerial experience with a track record).
- Knowledge of marketplace businesses/ experience in a growth business environment or startup.
- You believe in our ability to create services and products which have the customers best interest at heart
- You are happy to be pointed at problems and work out how to solve them. You don't require micro-management to be successful - you have a can do / will do attitude
- You look for creative resources; ways to make the most of the resources we have. Think like an entrepreneur
- You have great interpersonal, communication skills and analytics
- You are willing to operate in an environment that evolves fast and have appetite for challenge
- Fluent English
- Flexible to travel from time to time
