Corporate Power Purchase Agreements Manager and Performance Specialist

Location: Paris / Brussels / Europe

Position Overview:

The Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (CPPA) Manager is a pivotal role within the Renewables Global Business Unit (R-GBU), which is dedicated to enhancing the development of renewable energy assets. With a workforce of 4,000 employees from over 50 nationalities, R-GBU operates across 20 countries, managing a diversified portfolio that includes Solar, Wind, and Hydro assets, with a total installed capacity of 32 GW. Our goal is to significantly increase our capacity to 80 GW by 2030.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate PPA Development: Oversee the PPA pipeline, ensuring thorough tracking of activities and progress.
  • Assist countries in creating comprehensive business cases.
  • Review all PPAs, lead governance updates, and disseminate our PPA Golden Rules across Europe.
  • Prepare documentation for EU and RGBU Commitment Committees to secure transaction approvals.
  • Provide comprehensive support for transaction evaluations, focusing on risk and reward distribution.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with intermediaries, advisors, and internal teams.
  • Develop internal models to assess PPA pricing, incorporating market factors and long-term price references.
  • Identify operational synergies and risks, participating in risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Energy Management Europe to monitor PPA activities and identify commercial opportunities.
  • Lead the community of PPA managers in Europe, sharing best practices and organizing seminars.
  • Battery Development Support: Work closely with the Business Development team to evaluate battery opportunities across Europe.
  • Assist in building internal models to assess revenue streams from various markets.
  • Performance Monitoring: Collaborate with performance officers to monitor the EU renewable energy portfolio.
  • Oversee maintenance contracts and strategies, ensuring effective performance management.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Coordinate with operational entities to share best practices and conduct strategic benchmarking studies.
  • Prepare communication materials for management, ensuring confidentiality.

The selected candidate will report directly to the VP of Europe Operations and will not have management responsibilities.

Team Environment:

The Renewables Operations Europe team is committed to:

  • Setting and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) objectives.
  • Defining operational KPIs for assets.
  • Supporting operational entities in identifying performance issues.
  • Implementing asset management guidelines.
  • Coordinating the development of Corporate PPAs.
  • Managing commercial performance and exposure to market risks.
  • Providing technical expertise for site selection and resource assessment.
  • Ensuring accurate data collection and analytics for all assets.

Qualifications:

  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in identifying business opportunities related to Corporate PPAs.
  • In-depth knowledge of the European energy market and its regulatory landscape.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Ambitious and proactive in pursuing new opportunities.

Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages such as French, German, Spanish, or Italian is advantageous.
