Overview of Your Role


The Regional Manager for Project Development will play a pivotal role within the Western Europe Sales division, focusing on the technical sales and acquisition of orders for intricate modifications and enhancements of steam turbines and generators across our clientele in France, Belgium, and The Netherlands.

In partnership with the West Europe sales team and the Product Competence Centers, the Regional Manager will oversee the creation of proposals, outline project strategies, integrate diverse product line offerings, and facilitate negotiations alongside the Regional Sales Team and Product Line technical experts.

By comprehending customer requirements, the Regional Manager will pinpoint upgrade opportunities, craft tailored proposals, and steer customer negotiations while ensuring adherence to internal approval processes and margin expectations.


Your Impact

  • You will manage the project development and quotation process from initial discovery to project handover to the execution team.
  • To achieve this, you will:

o Collaborate with the Regional Sales Team to identify, assess, develop, and pursue advanced business opportunities for Steam Turbines and Generators Services.

o Formulate and implement an Annual Operating Plan to meet your individual objectives, while planning and forecasting order volumes based on proactive opportunity development within your designated territory.

o Coordinate with regional and steam turbine product line technical resources to pursue advanced business opportunities in your area.

o Analyze and evaluate specific advanced business prospects related to the client’s product and service portfolio, qualifying opportunities to establish bid strategies and solutions.

o Maintain the sales funnel by accurately documenting the lifecycle of advanced business opportunities, ensuring all opportunities are properly entered into the CRM system, forecasted, and tracked to closure.

o Prepare, coordinate, and conduct project and proposal negotiations in collaboration with product line and regional resources, identifying market pricing levels and applying or recommending discounts as necessary in line with company policies.

o Oversee the preparation and monitoring of proposals in support of identified opportunities, regional cost modeling, and guarantees, integrating multiple product line offerings and localized content.

o Assist customers directly with cost-benefit analyses and calculations to highlight the specific advantages of utilizing Siemens Energy products.

o Apply Miller Heiman Strategic Selling Strategies in all sales endeavors.

o Provide insights into client needs, competitive intelligence, market drivers, and purchasing influences for the development of new product and service offerings.

o Initiate the management approval process for advanced business in accordance with global policies.

o Support departmental initiatives and opportunities as needed.


Qualifications

  • Over 5 years of experience in technical sales.
  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or a combination of Business and Engineering.
  • Familiarity and experience with rotating equipment.
  • Proficient command of English, both written and spoken; proficiency in French is preferred, with Dutch and/or German being advantageous.
  • Comprehensive commercial and contractual understanding to effectively engage with customers, management, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical thinking, decision-making, results-oriented approach, and excellent communication skills.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and an open-minded perspective.
Willingness to travel: 40% to 50%
