Municipal Police Service Chief

Ville de Besançon is seeking two highly motivated and experienced Municipal Police Service Chiefs to lead its Public Safety and Peace Department unit.
As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our citizens. You will be responsible for managing both the administrative and operational aspects of the unit, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities:- Oversee the daily operations of the unit, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
- Develop and implement performance dashboards to track key metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Serve as a liaison with citizens, responding to inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor parking and traffic flow within the city, enforcing regulations and promoting safe road usage.
- Conduct regular road and speed controls to deter violations and enhance public safety.
- Supervise the monitoring of fairs, markets, and public spaces, ensuring compliance with municipal ordinances.
- Develop and implement security measures for events, minimizing risks and ensuring a safe environment for attendees.
- Promote adherence to municipal regulations and policies among staff and the public.
- Conduct pedestrian and public transportation surveillance, deterring criminal activity and promoting a sense of security.
- Build strong relationships with community members, fostering trust and collaboration.
- Oversee the surveillance of municipal buildings and public areas, ensuring their safety and security.
- Be available for weekly on-call duty, responding to emergencies and critical situations.
- Perform video monitoring tasks, analyzing footage and identifying potential incidents.
- Proven leadership and management skills with a track record of success in similar roles.
- In-depth knowledge of municipal police regulations and procedures.
- Proficiency in office tools and software applications.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure, handling stressful situations with composure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear and concise interactions with colleagues, superiors, and the public.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of identifying issues and developing effective solutions.
- Availability and willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as required.
