Overview:

The Ville de Besançon is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Municipal Police Service Chief - Unit Manager within its Public Safety and Peace Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee both administrative and operational functions of the unit
  • Develop and maintain activity dashboards to monitor performance
  • Address inquiries and correspondence from the public
  • Supervise parking and traffic management
  • Conduct road safety and speed enforcement operations
  • Monitor public events, markets, and the use of public spaces
  • Recommend security protocols for community events
  • Ensure adherence to municipal regulations and policies
  • Perform surveillance of pedestrian areas and public transport systems
  • Build and maintain community relations
  • Supervise the monitoring of municipal properties and public spaces
  • Participate in weekly on-call duties as required
  • Conduct video surveillance operations

Candidate Profile:

  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial capabilities
  • Familiarity with municipal police regulations and practices
  • Competence in using office software and tools
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
